If the lift pump isn't supplying enough fuel for the high pressure pump, the draw on the high pressure pump will pull air through the any joint not fully airtight. Hence the air bubbles.

I am pretty close to your figures, and not a reason for getting a used X5 :) (still cost more , if not 10 yrs old), or a bmw 320d auto.

I like it as is now, probably when im 10 yrs older, it might be an X5 from 2017 would be sufficient but i cannot tell the future, maybe we do not need X5 cars then :) They might fly a little by then.

Id still expect to see leaks as Diesel is quite searching.

Is there some kind of reservoir prior to the main injector pump?

That i wouldnt know as im not mechanically minded.....

Im going to see our mechanic either today or tomoz about unattaching the two pipe from the filter and connecting them together to see if there is still air flowing..
I would try it myself but knowing me i would break something and have diesel evwrywhere.....

Have you currently got the same drivetrain? That's a lot of torque for a FWD.

Nice - I got lucky like that too.  Had an Ecoboost 150 FWD ST Line on order but got fed up of waiting for the build (20+ weeks with no sign of a build date) and found a 66 plate on Ford Direct that had been owned by a dealership manager and had every possible optional extra.  Cost me significantly less than the lower spec'd new build would have too.

Still really enjoying the car

As a now retired self employed geezer I’ve tried many a battery cleaner and to be honest, never found a good one yet. I totally agree with Phil about Black n Decker though, absolute rubbish. Personnaly I use the mains Dyson even though we have a cordless Dyson

Just go and pressure test the fuel line from the tank to the high pressure pump.
Then you will know if that is actually leaking. And possibly you can find the leak easier.

Ive tried looking at youtube but have been unable to find any videos showing how to remove the lamp from the fitting. I asume its just the 2 bolts on the headlamp that remove the housing then look inside and see how to remove it.

I want to replace lamps to brighter type.

New to forum but I too have been hearing a rattling noise for about 12 months , taken it to Stoneacre ford 3times , master mechanic called Nigel came out on road test each time . The first 2 tests he heard nothing but on the 3rd road test , which was last week he heard the the and felt some juddering which had started about a month ago when accelerating gently in 2nd and 3rd gear or just driving in traffic . The kuga was in for MOT o Friday Sao they asked to keep it for the day to find the problem . They were brilliant , the found the problem , which was the prop shaft flexible joint which had seized . About £1000 + vat for prop shaft 😫. Nigel (master mechanic) found one for me on eBay , genuine ford with matching part numbers and new and fully boxed , for £275 . Had it fit today , took 3 hours but only charged for 1 hour labour and the kuga is now driving like new . These guys are really good and very helpful . A very big thank you to Nigel and Stoneacre Ford .

Thanks Richard, nice to have opinions across the board, although sat nav is standard, I tend to guide myself and use sat nav as I home in on the last few miles of my journey. ( used to write a road list out and stick it on dashboard many moons ago)

I had those swivel HIDs on a Tit X Focus, my commute to work involves 10 roundabouts and the beam moving drove me round the bend.

My previous Tit X Kuga only had standard Xenons and the auto-leveling was annoying on that too.

Much prefer the fixed Halogens I have now.

I have Mayday cover through caravan and motorhome club.... It is with green flag but as you say has extra benefits ie breakdown on way on holiday in the UK and they take you car and van to holiday park and if car not fixed when holiday finished they come and collect you and van and take you home... Also no restrictions on van size unlike most other providers including green flag purchased not through caravan and motorhome club
