Nothing wrong with your eyes, its just reflections, colour is the same all the way around.

I am pretty sure that they do not change the magnetic colour when they spray paint the different parts at factory.

But yes, reflections can be tricky and play with your vision, that is for sure the case here, i would not go the dealer to get that confirmed. At least it sounds like waste of time, since that cannot do much here.

Hi all as a paint sprayer by trade I do see this all of the time I currently work for Landrover and see thousands of range rovers every day this is something that is even obvious on rangerovers it is to do with the way the paint sits on the plastic bumpers as apposed to the aluminium or steel body panels basically when they are painted in the factory the main car is sprayed and is electrically charged which makes the metallic sit in a certain way but that process can’t be done with bumpers or any other plastics so they sit slightly different so even though the colour is exactly he same it will appear different hope this makes sense

Painting with metallics/pearlescent paints is not just a straight forward case of matching the colour especially where one part is painted differently to another, a variation in quantities of components when paint mixing, differing temperature and humidity will affect how the paint looks, aluminium particles in the paint "sink" or "float" depending on how quickly/slowly the paint solvent flashes off, any variances means with varying light angles on panels they can appear to be a different colour.

Even really skilled paint sprayers can struggle matching some colours eg. a pearlescent red with gold fleck is notoriously difficult to match for the reasons previously mentioned.

Murcod, out of objective need to know: how did you recovered from "unresponsive car" after FoCCCus usage?

I have an original chipset ELM327 adapter (USB version), "factory" modified with MS-CAN switch, and I intend to try to activate auto-lock for Mk2 with FoCCCus. Some disaster recovery preparation might help! :)

I tried with another adapter (WiFi version) and ForScan, but I could not identify the option for autolock. The only result: lack of dead lock / double lock using fingerprint (with keyfob was working fine). I had to reset door modules to factory config at dealer service (using their VCM / IDS interface).

ElmConfig I understand that it's "made" for Mk1 Kuga (Focus 2) and I don't have any positive outcome from anyone using ElmConfig for autolock in Mk2 Kuga. Am I wrong?

Thanks!

Yes applying the paint differently is the main cause and the metallic particles line up is such a way that they reflect light. Looks worse when images are taken with a digital camera which emphasises infra red as white light. This was my first MK2 in Grey and it didn't look as bad as this image portrays.

Hi Murcod,

I managed to get the drivers for my ELM327 with MS-CAN Switch installed on an old Dell laptop running Windows XP.

I am able to connect the ELM327 to my MK3 Kuga and read codes, vin info and sensor info with the Forscan software and the software supplied with the ELM327.

I am however unable to connect to my vehicle when I make use of the Focccus software and receive a error stating "Can't init ELM"

Do you perhaps have some advice for me on how I could overcome this error?

Thanks

I have made a little video showing the fuel pipe running from the fuel filter to the high pressure fuel pump....

https://youtu.be/s0lMy5eDwcg

The missus drove 15mins from work to the gym had an hr and drove home which is another 20mins in traffic.....
We walked the dogs and i recorded the video 40mins after she go home with the engine still hot...

Now are those tiny bubbles normal running from the fuel filter.....

Im also going to post a cold start video in the morning of the same pipe to see if its the same.......
Plus im going to unscrew the cover tomoz that covers the fuel filter housing weather pending though......

It is possible to lock the crankshaft out of position so not an impossible situation to be in.

I have a 2014 Kuga Titanium X. I have a leak (although small) coming in on the right hand side of the sunglasses holder, just by the rear view mirror. Ford said it was the windscreen and National Windscreens said it wasn’t, but may be the water ducts. The car has a sunroof as well, but doesn’t appear to leak in through here. When I drive, a small wet patch appears on the central ‘hump’ of the glasses holder. This makes me think that airflow is pushing water in. If I park the car uphill, then the leak tends to stop. Please, does anyone have any ideas or solutions?

Hi, there are plenty of videos on youtube, but you need to be very careful due to the high voltage. Xenon bulbs are subject to the Ford three year warranty

From experience, limp-mode wont let you go past 2000rpm, makes sounds and codes.
But it does let you run normally up to 2000rpm. Then it cuts the power off and you feel like you hit a wall.

Perpaps the OP needs to check placement of the timing belt at another place. Just to confirm that is has been installed correctly.
When I had mine changed, the car performed as it had earlier.

I finally got around to fitting my dash cam in the Kuga over the weekend. It's a Koonlung K1s, it's classed as hidden because the control box hides away under the dash or wherever you want to put it and only the 2 cameras are on show. I liked it because they are really small and discreet.

A couple of pictures, Front
Rear.

Link to Amazon for more info for anyone that's interested.

Sorry no I have always managed to slightly move the headlines and push pipe back in I know the leak is coming from the sunglasses holder but with it being the lowest point that's were the water leaks first try following the pipe from the pillar normal on the passenger side on the galaxy it was as you look at the car right side corner hope this helps   ps if tis under warranty get them to do it

Although I couldn't turn anything on (entire dash was dead) I was able to reconnect using FoCCCus and reload the BCM. I'd strongly suggest not playing around with FoCCCus using an ELM327 interface.

Also I'd advise to hook up a battery charger (decent one with around 10 Amp capacity) when doing the reads/ writes. A lot of high current drain equipment cycles on/off with reading and writing using FoCCCus.

Wdeysel, earlier you said you had a 2013 Kuga, above you say a Mk3 (current shape?) Which is it?
I've read FoCCCus won't work with the latest USA Escape (so I'm guessing the same would apply to a 2017 Kuga.)
