Very smart mate!

Have you changed the bars aswell or just turned them up a bit? They look much more pulled back on the pink version. Or was that to make it easier to check your makeup whilst on the move?

Who did the paint job? It looks a very pro/tidy job

I've had the calculator out today to try to work out the best gearing alterations for my winter project. With standard gearing it'll be good for approx 145mph. Trouble is that's approx 40mph more than can be comfortably used on a naked bike (on a track of course your honour )

So after much number crunching & a lot of fag packet maths. I "think" I'm going down one on the front sprocket & up three on the back? That should equate to a top speed of 120mph ish, comfortable cruising revs at 70mph & 0-60mph in...."Holy sh!t, my eyeballs can see my sphincter in1st, 2nd & 3rd gear!"

Regards Jez

Good acceleration is what I'm after mate but not if it'll make it a liabilty to ride! i.e. I'd still like to be in control of when the front wheel lifts!

Just had a chat with a mate who's a track day fan/ocassional racer. He reckons my planned changes to the gearing coupled with the MX bars with make it go like stink but try to wheelie all the time? He suggests going down one on the front sprocket & see how that goes? Then a maximum of two up on the rear sprocket not three as I'd planned. I'm happy to accept his advice on the matter. However having the wheel & chain off twice seems like extra work. So I might go for his suggested -1 & +2. If it's too much I'll leave the smaller front on & swap the rear back to standard.

Regards Jez

Thanks for all your comments. After yet another malfunction last Saturday I spoke to my dealership who offered me a deal on a new car. Problem is, they are offering me less than market value for my Kuga. We will look after you, actually means we will rob you for another four grand! I'm fuming now! Why should I pay for a 14 plate and lose value on a car that was bought new last March? Ford relationship team have been great but have advised me the contract is between me and the dealership.

Further investigation shows that even webuyanycar will offer me more for the Kuga lol. I've actually given up and want to part ex for another marque!

I've had fords all my life, never will I buy another new car from them! I will also name and shame the dealership in a few weeks and stress to buyers to keep away from Kugas?

Cheers Huga,

Wait till the sun comes out. You'll realy need those shades then

As your the Youtube guru. See if you can find the video to how the marble paint effect is created? I'll give you a massive clue. Include the word "clingfilm" in your search

Having a look for "Ford Keyless Failure" and reading some other forums, it reminded that there might have been a previous post about problems with the keyless entry modules in the doors.

With a fix to take the handles (door) apart and clean / seal them. Don't know if it's related, but maybe if water has got into them then you might be having sensor problems ... I'll keep looking

might be of interest...

Hi, Just thought id let members know, my Kuga is,  at the end of this month 3 years old so had it serviced and inspected and the aircon serviced and re-charged whilst it was there this past week, it took two visits though as when i went to collect on the first occasion i was advised of numerous items that should of been changed as part of the major service that the dealer didn't bother doing or informing me until i went to collect my car, which i was disappointed about.  I subsequently took it back and they changed the 5 spark plugs and two air and cabin/pollen filter at a reduced cost with 12 months roadside, home and european cover included. Whilst i was there ( having been aware of the eye watering repair quotes members have been given for numerous faults that have occurred on vehicles on this forum ) i thought i would enquire about an extended warranty now that my three years is up, as i intend to keep my vehicle.
Previously i did an online quote with the warranty-wise link on the site and was quoted £1400 for 3 years cover so i was more than impressed to discover the dealer could set up my 3 years comprehensive cover for just £669.00 . Obviously, i took it out there and then as  I think that is a bargain going by some of the repair quotes members on here have been quoted recently for what may seem trivial repairs. Regards, Paul.

Bandit looks good mate, like the blue paint.Hard to see on the pics is it marble finish as per the YouTube vid? Blue on my Hardley was done like that I believe but a guy at Paintstore reckons dabbing with crunched up aluminium foil more likely.Look forward to seeing it in the flesh soon Jez

I agree with you regarding the Kuga. Great comfort, feels secure, really like the high driving position.

Fuel economy was hoping for 40+ , managed to get 42mpg (calculated) doing some consistent motorway journeys but generally averaging less. Still early days though at just under 5000 miles.

At the end of the day you're right it is a big heavy car, we didn't choose it for amazing fuel economy and sometimes with modern driving you just need to put your foot down.

Cheers Mate,

Yeah mine was done with cling film as per the Youtube video. Tin foil is a new one on me but I guess it would have a similar effect on wet paint?

The meet up will happen soon mate but probably not this weekend as we spoke about? The reason being is my Mrs has been inspired by the finished Bandit & wants to get her Trike out of the garage tomorrow for the first time in nearly 6 months! So she'll no doubt wanna go to see all her mates on it & drag me along with her? Normaly this would be a ball ache. However as I have my new toy to tag along on it won't be so bad.

I'd lay odds on it being after a heavey downpour of rain ?

Mine goes very very odd after a rainy night including a message NO KEY IN CAR !!!

I've never know a car act so odd after rain so it must be shorting out somewhere....

Went to the local dealers earlier to have a look at mine that had just arrived - was filthy and in need of alot of TLC before I take delivery of it next Saturday!  There was also a frozen white one that had arrived on the same transporter - looked the business too!

The mudflap issue is one thats concerning me already before taking delivery of the car - from past experience of the MK1 Kuga I remember all too well the battering the lower plastic trim along the sides of the car took hence the reason I am having a clear protective film fitted to the area as soon as I take delivery.  Its then down to ordering some of the standard "rally type" mudflaps and fabricating a set of flaps from them!
