Had a good look round an identical spec car sat in the local dealers earlier and have to say that as nice as the Titanium X Sport is (and in no way would I reconsider my choice) I cant believe Ford have still "cut corners" with regards to some of the "basics" on the car...

For a start - both the Mondeo and S-Max versions of the Titanium X Sport come with alloy pedals as standard as well as higher quality finished mats.
Not only that but (as I pointed out to the dealer) the 19" alloys are partially diamond cut and polished, which, if they go the way of the 18"s with a similar finish on the mk1 will lead to corrosion issues a few years down the line  - I would have preferred the standard Kuga 19"s in all honesty.

Another thing I would add to my Kuga "wish list" would have been the excellent door edge protection feature now offered on the Focus - what an absolutely excellent feature and I cant understand why its just the Focus its available on - when you have kids this is a priceless extra to have at your disposal...

Having said all that I cant wait to pick the car up and have already ordered several must have accessories including the Ford Protection pack and the Climair deflectors!

I think that's it. It is the option for use best contrast, try turning it off (unticking it!)

So our Kuga's were collected the same day? That was the day before my 40th Birthday! Wife keeps reminding me it is my 40th and 50th Birthday present! I think the Kuga's fantastic, how are you getting on with yours?

Hi I'm new to the forum so hello everybody. I've fitted a k&n intake kit to my 2012 2ltr 138bhp kuga and instantly have engine malfunction light on dash stopped car after restarting light went off for a while this happened a few times until the management light came on. Have had the codes read and code P00BC is stored. Put the old filter kit back an car runs fine with no warning lights. Have looked into this code and is related to low air flow which puzzles me as thought k&n increases air flow. Has anybody come across this an fixed this issue or any ideas as to how I can solve this issue without going back to standard filter? Thank you for reading

Filter was fitted correctly as per instructions have double checked instillation many times. Have disconnected battery but not for 30mins does this have to be done for this length of time? Filter didn't seem very oiled in my opinion. I have disconnected the maf sensor only to clean it incase it was contaminated with oil from the new filter.

Hi all I am new to this forum so please bear with me if I make mistakes, My gaiter has also split and the chrome collar under the knob is now also splitting, when I looked up the forum to see if anyone ells was having the same problem, I was amazed to see that loads of people are complaining about the gaiter splitting.
It is obvious to me, that Ford have a major problem here, and are using faulty material, I must say I do love my Kuga so I am disappointed to here that people with only 5k on the clock are already having things wear out that should in my opinion last to at least 100k.
Could not we as Members of the Kuga owners club, get up some sort of a petition and make Ford aware of this problem, and suggest they had a call back and replace the gaiter with a harder wearing one such as real leather that you can buy off EBay for about £14.00.
I would have replaced mine but they do not come with the plastic surround or chrome collar, and I would imagine it would not be an easy job to refit a new gaiter on to the old Plastic.

Thanks for getting back to me, apologies for the delay in replying further. However this is what happened.....

Having left it with my local dealer, with the estimate of "£5-600" I nipped in there to pick up my sat nav prior to going away on a business trip. The car was in bits, maybe that sounds blatantly obvious but not only was 75% of the dash missing, the whole transmission tunnel, including centre arm rest and a muttering technician was in the background, swearing under his breath, no doubt at both myself and the car.

So, I've been away for a couple of days and have been seriously concerned about how many hours the job was going to take along with the potential part £400+, this could easily head North of a grand!

I heard nothing whilst I've been away (which didn't help my nerves) so decided to visit them on my return and inspect where they were up to. On entering the premises, I'm offered my keys and told "it's round the back". Okayyyyyy, erm, great but how much and should I sit down, I say.

He then shows me the bill, £600 including the MOT!!!! We then proceed to have a chat about my finding (through this exceptional website) about the supposed 3.4 hours it's meant to take and he suggested a word which sounds like "dollocks" but was well aware of it and said their policy wasn't to rip people off, or something to do with they can only charge Fords recommended time. The actuality of it was in well in excess of double the 3.4 hours (plus the parts).

Bottom line, if this job needs doing to yours, let Ford do it.

Thanks again for your original answer.

Hi Frozen,
Did you get 501 8 SMD type bulbs? I did end up getting these (15 LED) bulbs from Halfords (expensive) Tried the cheaper ones (look like normal bulbs), but didn't think that they were bright enough for me ...

Hi kettleman.
I don't want to upset you but i'm taking my new shed on a 4 month tour of Europe mid may to Sept ish but can keep you updated as have internet access during most of the trip staying central Europe though not going near eastern Europe staying around France, Switzerland, Italy, Germany, Austria ect.Did it in a motorhome last time But it's a pain trying to take a bloody great motorhome into some of the smaller towns, so will hopefully be better with the car and leave the shed parked up is a nice campsite, a lot of the europian ones are a bit more modern than some of ours and most of the motorway rest stops cater for motorhome and caravans , and you can stop overnight for free even have hookups not like here after 2 hours parked in a pothold litter strewn carpark some spotty little erk comes out with his book of tickets and wants £10 for the night.Hope you have a trouble free time with your shed and any time i can help with advice just sent me a note
