Yes, if they altered the pin12 connection within the car,  the 7pin socket will  work no matter what, when connected. At least that is what i believe, and what to check in mine. in pin12 is not used at all, that might be why mine is not working at all.

I managed to get my order No. and VIN No from dealer at the start of the week.
Popped the VIN No. into the Ford tracker last night only to get a message ( no vehicles matching this number ). So decided to try the order No., but it required the dealer code, which was not supplied, Stumped again.
Must admit i'm getting pretty hacked off with the dealer, and the lack of info, this was never a problem with Skoda, in fact i'm now starting to think that the Kodiaq might have been a better option. plus it would have been on the road by now.

True......
Very true..
As its not my motor i havent a leg to stand on with regards to sell it..

While i have your attention people lets go back to the original issue which was a gunked up faulty Throttle valve...

The problems stemmed from that...

Now from the throttle valve upwards where does it go into and what does that do in performance wise....
As i just feel that since the throttle valve could the problem stem from where the valve goes to.....

One pipe will go to the turbo other pipe to egr valve if it all gums up that quickly looks like the turbo seals are leaking if so it has the potential to take off and run on the oil from
The turbo if the seal goes properly, the valve should not gum up at all and the pipes should be dry .

Probably easiest way to find ford dealer code is to browse the new cars stored at your local dealers yard. Whilst many new deliveries are parked in a secure yard I always find a few, including Kugas, dotted around the parking lot/used car yard. They usually have a sticker on one of the windows, and I believe that the dealer code will be the number below the VIN on the sticker. e.g.  My local dealer code is 83553AA. Ironically this number is no use to me as I have ordered my Kuga through a third party so it will end up coming from any dealer in the UK ! Agreed it is frustrating, - when I ordered my wife's fiesta from dealer 83553AA we got no feedback until the car was ready for collection about 4 months later. Wife had almost given up! Sales people just can't be bothered. Anyway, worth a try.

Well after all the hassle I've had from the dealer with no altewrnative within  a reasonable distance, much as I love the Kuga, I'm due a new Motobility car in October and it won't be a Ford.
The rudeness and lack of interest in any problems I have, demands for top feedback everytime I go in for anything has spoiled my enjoyment of what is a very comfortable, capable car.
There is a very good Vauxhall dealer nearby, so with my need to get 6ft fishing rods bags and chair, dog and sometimes a small electric scooter, I'm looking at the Astra SRi estate. The new places I go fishing are off proper car parks, the lower tail would be easier for the 16 yr old collie and the boot is huge.
I'll be sorry to see the Kuga go, and it's entirely down to Furrows Ford after sales attitude.

Just had a neighbour follow me up the street and pointed out that the car was leaking somewhere, turns out to be coming from the exhaust box. The exhaust is a factory fitted one and has a line of holes running the entire width of the box. Was ready with the gun gum, but reading elsewhere could be drainage for condensation. Anyone know for sure what they are there for?

Plenty/ all exhausts have drain holes for condensation to stop them rotting from inside out.
