But if the not-Ford mechanic connects it incorrectly, it is not important whether it is a Ford Kit or WestFalia . At least mechanic claimed the Westfalia kit uses the original connector.

And i find no complaints on internet about Westfalia and kuga wiring kits being a problem.

But are correct, if you buy from Ford, you can more easily go back to them and complain there as well, if your setup fails.

I am constantly looking at other car reviews and seeing what new models are coming out. For the money the Kuga gives me all the nice things - high driving position (higher than other so called over SUV's - Qashqai, Kadjar - I'm looking at you), smooth to drive, comfortable, economical, good amount of space while not being too big (Edge!) and scores well on safety.

I really like having reassurance of AWD, automatic plus toys like LED lights, panoramic roof and auto tailgate which if I wanted on a so called premium model would cost a fortune. Overall I'm extremely happy and when weighed up against the competition I think the Kuga is a fantastic buy.

OK, let me re-phrase, This is the exact reason I bought the Ford kit and fitted it myself so I know it's right!

Ahhhh, smartguy and a wise decision ;) Wink

Then you know how to get the rear right side off , where cabling is?  (Just maybe then i would at least look at what they did) as i got the manual but no story on how i take the rear right off.

I went to the Ford dealer with a view to part exchanging my 2year old Ecosport for another one. I was surprised when I got really good deal on a new Kuga. Having had the car for nearly a year I still love it. It is the one of the few cars I have had that does not cripple my back.

I do take reviews with a large spoon of salt, as they seem only to want to look at the more 'exotic' makes of cars. For me the Kuga ticks all my boxes and has all the toys I want and more. When I look at my car and the current version, the only difference seems to be the front end and an electric handbrake.

So fitting a new module to every door sounds like the first thing I need to do?

Fuse number 133, ampere rating 25. The central locking relays passenger door module. So pretty much the front passenger and rear passenger doors have no power to them, it was the only way to stop the clicking. Took out the drivers side fuse to begin with but that's the side that obviously gets most use.

No can't operate anything from the drivers side to the passenger side when the fuse is in.

When the fuse is out the key fob locks and opens the drivers side front and rear and the boot then I need to manually lock and open the passenger front and rear from the inside. When the fuse is in it only operates the boot but doesn't operate any of the doors.

hI.

I've just bought a 2013 Kuga MkII 1.6 Eco boost here in South Africa. I have noticed over the first weekend of driving that the drivers foot well next to the drivers left leg gets very hot, especially when in stop start traffic. I know the heater matrix pipes run bellow the foot well but it gets so hot you don't actually want to have your leg resting against the console. I've had it back to ford today and their only response is that the heater pipes are there, it will get hot. This surely can't be, In summer it will be a real nuisance. I have a friend with a Kuga and they say they have never noticed this issue.

Has anyone else come across this issue, and if so, what was the solution.

Right now I'm considering returning the vehicle.

Thanks.

Andy.

You may only need the front Door modules if F133 is holding off the other modules. I think its where to start as a faulty module may not only fail to operate but also inhibit the CANBUS to each module.

Anything can happen with a 'Fry Up'

I also found the KV-antenna and googled it to relate to my keyless entry part, so that i know now :)
But do i have a leak , which Ford covered up?

Yes that is a Keyfree antenna. It should also prevent the boot closing and locking if a fob is left in the boot and there is no fob outside.

Time to have a word with your friend perhaps to see if he recalls it occurring.

Welcome to the forum.
Can you find another identical car to try, to see if the problem exists on all 1.6 Kugas.
If it does you may have to return the car.

Unfortunately the instructions aren't great or I could have added the pictures for you.

You need to start by taking the middle piece off that runs across where the boot latch is, then just get your fingers inside and pull away towards the inside of the boot. There's clips along the top where it connects to the upper part, it actually comes off quite easily. If you take the fuse cover off, it gives you a hole to get your fingers in and to pull with.

Thanks, i was looking at that part in the middle, but figured that there was more to it, than removing it.

I might give it a try tomorrow.
