Picked up our new Kuga 20ltr awd tit x Sterling Gray Very impressed. Drive on winding country lanes in Shropshire & Mid Wales.. its like driving on rail tracks holds the line on tight left hand bends ... essential if you want to avoid ending up embedded in the front of an oncoming Tractor .. Ride is superb on rutted off road track to our Farm house and at night. WOW! xenon headlights its like driving in daylight. Impressed with Disability sales at Dickensons in Winsford Cheshire for extras ... tow-bar, Mudflaps all round and the personal service received over the years.
No apology for the Dealer pitch .... but praise where praise is due.

Whay-hey another Stirling Grey (mm did that rhyme?)
Nice one Johna. Yes the Kuga rides the bumps really well and still holds the road on bends, so in control yet so well isolated from the road noise etc.

hi ginja sorry to hear about your illness you do get the option to buy your car with motability after the 3yrs also if you have done less than 15thousand miles you can keep it for another 2years I have done this myself saves putting another advance payment down going back to buying car after 3years you are in a no win situation if you don't do many miles the price they offer the car to you is obviously high so if you think of going down that road put plenty of miles on it you are allowed 45thousand over the 3yrs hope this information has been useful to you regards sooty
interesting bit of knowledge there, most car's I've had in the past I've never got over 8000 miles in a year and motability offer you a limit of 60,000 over the three years! I doubt we will get anywhere near that limit as we have two other vehicles to choose from at home at the moment
Should be £155.00 ish WITH the optional charge wire but Bank Farm did mine them selves so i only ordered th 13pin kit. (includes the module as well) £123.00 ish.
Fitting http://www.bankfarm-trailers.co.uk/pages/Contact.aspx £75.00 inc vat They also coded the ECU for TSP and Rev Sensor cut off when towing. Youll have to check about tail gate operation as i dont have that. Shame theyre mainly based in Wales but ring round for a fit only price local to you. CHECK they are familiar with TowTrust Bars, and Right Connections electric.
Hope that help, if you can get the same deal on fitting as i did, you should do the lot for less than £400 for a top notch piece of kit. You could read here as well http://www.kugaownersclub.co.uk/forum/towbar-choice-and-fit_topic9325.html

After a very heavy bout of rain with the wind helping it along... My dash came up with a warning light KEY NOT IN CAR ! I could not start the car ?
I then though Ah..the emergency key. Fiddling about and getting it out and in the ignition hole I though everything would be fine, but NO still KEY NOT IN CAR ? The missis was going mad as we had to pick the grandson up...
It was still pouring down and I popped the bonnet, not knowing what to look for really... I got the tester out and found 14 volts in the battery, so all was well there. had a push about on all connections and felt most were wet or very damp, so dried them over with a cloth.
Got in and it started, but that message was still displaying, but couldn't wait had to go and pick up the grandson... She rushed in and got him them it was off to the shops where I had to wait a while as ahe got served and I had to keep the engine running. We got home and I decided I had to go to Ford... Driving off and the message went off. I turned everything off, and tried to start the car and everything returned to normal even with the emergency key removed. ?????
I just couldn't figure it out, I put it down to water ingress again... somewhere !!!

Well the Kuga is back from the main dealers minus one annoying knocking noise, its blissful. They told me it was drainage tubes leading from the sunroof, whether that is right or not I am not sure, but the noise has gone....

Hi guy's I got a witter tow bar fitted via my main dealer,Ford S.M.C. not done directly by them but done at their workshop, with the correct electics the tow bar was £570 all in inc vat, including the detachable swan neck, and moving the tailgate senser slightly to allow it to work. i checked with witter and the electrics are £220 on their own. Then it was £55 for the dealer to update the software, 1 hour for that. I can see why it's so expensive the guy had to take of all the rear bumper and side trims including all the rear sensors and the park assist sensers so £ 635 total was not to bad. hope that helps

An alternative to the TowTrust bar i bought but it states no visible cutout, which is ovviously different to no cut out at all, and the tow ball isnt included in the price.

Thought I would chime in with my set up. I have a witter detachable flange tow bar which I got from p f jones coupled with some westfalia dedicated electrics. The electrics and the charging relays are plug and play and have the reverse sensor cut out which works. As for the tsp, I have not had this activated as my caravan has the Alko ATC. I fitted myself with the help of some of the guides on here and felt very easy compared to some others I have fitted. Took approx about half a day for both and cost around the £300 mark. Hope this may help.
