Hi
I am looking to buy mk1 kuga Titanium and have looked at decent 2009 model. The only thing putting me off is that it has the combined entertainment system and climate control. NX series? There seems a lot to go wrong and no way of upgrading to new double din head unit like you can with the Sony or Sd card head units as climate control is incorporated. Are these nx combined units problematic? Can you easily convert to separate double din and climate control (i am thinking not). Any views or advice welcome.

I don't know what the hold up is but it doesn't take 7 months to build an ecoboost engine or any of the extras I've added like heated seats, premium stereo or style pack.
In fact if it isn't built until October these parts won't have been built themselves never mind fitted to the car.

It sounds like the dealer either forgot to place the order with Ford, or they are trying to get you to accept a different spec car that they can get sooner as it's already been built.

hi there - did you have to take the complete bumper off to fit the towbar or can it be done by just removing the lower central plastic bumper part ( if you know what i mean ) - thanks

Hi Andrew
I have a "BootBuddy" liner in my mk2, its a semi rigid type of liner which can be easily removed for cleaning, (hosed down if required). Accessories are available also like padded floor mat etc, hope that helps......Ronnie

Had a tow trust detachable fitted on mine it required no cutting and doesn't interfere with the boot sensors either. Fitter said this was the one they recommended for this reason.

Yes, the bumper needs to be removed completely. The towbar slides inside the chassis legs and is then bolted through. It takes place of the crash protection beam.

Genuine Ford Yaw Rate Sensor 8M513C187HA 51X52H05 10.1701-0651.3
Part of the ESP/ABS system and allegedly a known issue on a number of Fords.

Replaced less than a year ago on my 2012 MK1 (facelift/individual pack) Kuga but didnt fix the issue, so now selling it in the hope of recovering some costs.

Various codes are on the unit and packaging:
8M513C187HA
51X52H05
Sensor Assembly
SNS YAW RTE
10. 1701-0651.3
GZ72E18M1F

It was seriously expensive from Ford so make me an offer if it's useful to you.

I recently stopped my subscription to AutoExpress as their bias towards all VAG products was getting ridiculous.

I totally agree with you AndyS79.... I have done the same thing a while ago now as it was becoming glaringly obvious of the bias towards the VAG.... Probably influenced by the German equivalent or sister mag Auto Bild.

This morning it took two attempts to fire up the kuga.....
First attempt the rpms got to 750rpm and it just dropped back...
The missus thought that the car matt might have pushed up and hindered the clutch..
The second attempt it started as usual.....

So into ford it goes on tuesday.....

Before it does anybody any idea why the tpms would reach 750 and drop.....!

tpms?? Or should that be RPM?

750 and drop, what do you mean. Do you mean the starter drops out engine runs, only reaches 750 and dies?

still waiting on the Ombudsman, the auto mail response says in 15 days I should receive a resonse. Which is Monday 12th hopefully Ill hear something soon/this week.

As a side note I have been posting on FB (when I see an advert for the Kuga) that customer service is poor, they don't car about problems after sales etc...a person contacted me and asked what issue I had, I explained everything. And was told a senior manager would be in touch.

The regional service manager called, and we had the exact same conversation as I had in Dec/January, I.E. its a signal issue, the software updates are the recommended fix.. etc etc...from what I know about DAB and what I have picked up on here, he is probably more informed than before the call :-). But for me its same old, same old, they are just not interested.

Ill update when the ombudsman respond hopefully they will help us out.

If anyone else is thinking of going the ombudsman, Ill give them my complaint number and they can use that in their mail, the more the merrier.
