I agree completely. Pure panic thinking about my kuga slamming on brakes just because the TSR reads the 50km/h limit signal of the highway exit while I am passing at 130km/h...

And, just to support my certainty, sometimes I think about driving in Naples or Sicily... Red is green, yellow does not exist... arrows are for Indians only... (these are all Italian mottos to depict the situation over there).

Sometimes ago I listened to the radio the great adage "why is Google trying to place so much intelligence in a car? In the end, it will be plunged into an ocean of stupidity.". GREAT!

To me, we will have the real turning point only when cars will talk to each other. Up to that moment... the jungle.

Hi Phil,
Ok, many thanks for the reply. I will look in my hand book. I was looking through the forum photographs and found a photo with gear in the storage area and thought the cars come with this and wanted to replace with origional.

This seems like a nice forum and good people who like to help others. I will help and advise if I can, discovered a few things already. I did read that people were finding it hard to change the puddle lights to LED lamps. You do not have to remove the lights, if you turn the mirror, it is possible to remove the light lamp holder. Pull the holder though the gap between the mirror and housing, change the lamp and refit. Saves on damage to the puddle light having to remove the screw behind the mirror.

Not sure where to post that information, please feel free to if it helps others, happy to send pictures if it helps?

Many thanks in advance,

Paul

Not entirely sure but the storage may be intended for stuff like tyre inflation gunk, or Euro-style emergency/breakdown kits, in circumstances where those are supplied or required

Over here I believe it's illegal to just regas a system that is low on gas. They're supposed to do a leak test.

Perhaps another dealer would be better- you could explain what's happened and see what they say.

Yes, I'm well aware of the "use it or lose it" factor, and I do run it regularly. I tried it on nomal, then with the big full aircon button (occasionally hit that by mistake instead of the start button).
Maybe it is a dealer problem, with it being a Motobility car (my first) I'm not sure if I have to use them, or if another Ford dealer can do the job. problem with that is the nearest "other Ford dealer" refers everything aboove a new key fob battery or fuse replacement gets outsourced to the one I'm losing faith with anyway.
I know what they'll say, last time it needed a recharge (on a 2 yr old car?) but this time there is a fault.
I'd rather they were honest with me than cover their backsides but I suppose I'll never know either way.
I'll see what happens. The new Skoda Kodiak looks ok, and apparently there's a new 5 seat version of it coming, they're sending me an invite to the opening.
I really don't like the cruise controls on them though, far prefer the Kuga layout.

I can say that mine were, and have been empty since 2008.
But I do believe that they were designed for tyre inflation or something similar.

We try to help eachother out whenever we can. Welcome

My Kuga has developed a hesitation on part throttle.

when driving it feels like its holding back. When you push the Accelerator down furtherit will accelerate away. Occasionally it feels like the throttle peddle is dead, with no response when pushed down. Releasing it then re-applying the throttle will result in fairly normal acceleration.

There are no warning messages or lights displaying.

I have scanned the vehicle with an Autel Fault Code reader and nothing shows up.

I don't want my local Ford Garage to start replacing sensors and bits trying to guess what's wrong as that would get ridiculously expensive.

If anyone has a clue as to what the problem might be it would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Kuga 2.0 180ps Titanium Power-shift. Ordered January delivered April. Ford launched a new face lifted Kuga campaign earlier in the year which was carried in most newspapers this has probably spiked sales and led to delays however to be fair I have waited 16/18 weeks for a Kuga Tit AWD power-shift which was built in Saarlouis Germany, personally I prefer to wait anyone remember the old days? when car manufacturers were stock piling vehicles on fields in dock areas OK their was massive discounting going on which obviously affected residual values and when you got your car it had stood for a year or so in a muddy field . . . not good.

I would try and log some data, firstly pedal position.  The Autel might be able to do that although I use DashCommand on my iPhone.  You should then be able to see is the ECU is getting the actual pedal position.  If that looks OK then I'd look at fuel pressure which might show something like a clogged fuel filter.

Thanks Bob,

MY Autel does have a Data recording facility. I'll take it out tomorrow and try and record some data.

I had the Fuel Filter changed recently, they had major problems bleeding the system after it was fitted.
This lead to fuel leaking from the injector fuel return pipes which have now been replaced.

The problem occurred prior to the fuel filter being changed but it was so slight I dismissed it. It's now getting worse. I've always thought the Accelerator pedal sensor was at fault because it always happens at cruising speed, same pedal position, until this afternoon when I turned into a side road and had little to no response from the pedal until I completely lifted off the pedal and reapplied pressure to the pedal.
I'll try recording the data and show it to my local Ford dealer tomorrow

Thanks for the response.

For long term reliability/ servicing costs I'd much rather have a Kuga than any VW based vehicle.

Yes theres no give in a steel hoop, there is in a tyre, so creates it own resistance, in fact thats a dynamic load and yes its the most energy absorbing particularly if it offered less resistance to squashing.

Yes fastened to the ankles is much harder, kinetic energy has to be overcome in the reciprocating action of walking as well as accelerating forces.

Hi all,
Just put down a deposit on a 2013 Kuga Titanium x powershift..
i will be need to fit a tow bar for my caravan, and probably fit a dash cam and reversing camera.
Car has only done 15000 miles so hopefully trouble free motoring for some time to come.

Do any of you have experience towing a caravan with these??  i will be towing a Bailey Unicorn Cadiz so a fair weight.

Any advise on dash cams, camera's and tow bars would be greatly appreciated.

thanks
Paul

Is it one of the last Mk1's by any chance? IIRC Mk1 kugas didn't have the screen showing the AWD distribution.

Is it the same car you posted about here 2 years ago?

Has anyone had problems with rear inner tyre wear, the ford garage is saying its within Fords setting and it must be the tyres, don't think Pirelli would like that, three quarters of the tred is fine (5mm) but the inner band is nearly down to the metal bracing, paid Fords to check and they say the rear wheels are within Fords settings, had to replace the tyres two years ago with same issue, has anyone had the same problem, the vehicle is 2010 Kuga Titanium TDCI.

Not sure to shout at Ford or Pirelli

If so it sounds like there could be a problem with the car. A previous accident poorly repaired maybe?
