Yes, it's the correct format. Although the ViN has been allocated it may not be on ETIS yet because they're slow to update the system or it hasn't started on the production line yet.

Be patient and try again early next week. If it still doesn't appear, ask the dealer to confirm the VIN in case they got it wrong. Incidentally, ETIS won't give shipping information, only vehicle build date, spec., date of GB registration and registration number.

Ah Colin McRay was excitingly reckless.

While assisting with radio communications on the the Dalby Forest stage of the Mintex Rally in the 80s, on an intermediate 'PARC' area because someone had sabotaged a stage, he eyed up one my stainless steel antennae on my then Ford Orion, wanting it to secure is Cosworth exhaust from falling off. Explaining that I required the antennae to provide emergency communications, he replied that he required it allow him to win the stage, Beggar (a word like that) the emergency radio. He was quite determined to remove the antenna until I told him that I had some thick copper wire in the boot. Phew

Of course he drove off, flat out.

BTW I just drive my Kuga how I feel on the day, never recklessly of course.Smile

For 2 1/2 yrs I've loved the car, it's Motobility and I was considering either asking to extend this one, or have another.
When I first had it, I had 3 flat batteries, the delarer's reaction to the first and second was "you must have left something on, call the RAC", which I did. The RAC got it up and running, but found no fault with the car or battery, nothing had been left on.
It happened the third time, and the RAC gave it a thorough going over, checked extensively for battery drain with/without the engine running, no fault found, recommended the dealer investigate.
They did, and discovered they'd missed an updated on the onfotainment somewhere that was causing it - I had asked them the first time, knowing full well I hadn't left anything on, if it was fully up to date.
Last friday, sweltering hot day, I'd come close to heatstroke trying to get some gardening done. had a sit and cuppa, got ready for my wargaming club that evening. Still 27 C, hoter inside car, I'd got the the main road before I realised the aircon wasn't working - again so got cooked doing the journey.
A few months back, I took it in as the aircon failed (on a 2 yr old car) and got told there was no fault but they's regassed it and it was fine. So it was, till Friday - now I'm wondering if they actually looked for a fault, or just regassed it and gave it back.
My wife changed away from Ford as the same dealer did similar to her and left her with a car that kept spluttering and cutting out intermittently till it nearly got her killed. The trust is fading fast, shame as I really like the Kuga.

Well I took my 2014 Titanium 163 Diesel 4x4 manual  in for is 3rd service with 11000 miles done asking for them to re-check the poor fuel average 39 mpg with town & motorway driving came back no problem found so as I was thinking of changing my car I started to look around and after looking around I plumped for a Gran Tourer BMW 220d M Sport X-drive auto with 3700 miles on the clock . But before I set of to Huddersfield which is  73 miles away from my home I reset the trip and MPG reading just to have one last check when I got to my destination checked the MPG and it was showing 38.9 mpg even after good open road conditions. Picked up the BMW reset the on board  trip and mpg read out and set of home with the car set in Comfort program there is a Eco Pro setting which save even more fuel and a Sports setting ,but went with Comfort setting .The road conditions on the road home where just the same as when I came and so was my road speed but when I got back home looked at the mpg read out it was showing 50.2mpg and that shows me I have made the right choice with 3 year warranty with breakdown included and a service plan for 3 years for £299 and a far superior mpg and a class car with the finish and equipment to go with it.

I suspect that build/delivery times are influenced by number and type of fitted options selected. Are cars with similar option spec batched together for build? Makes sense, - or perhaps not! Ordered mine 11th May and told about 12 weeks to delivery.

Hi,

a couple of weeks ago a number of electrical items stopped working at the same time in my 2011 Kuga:

- Radio
- Interior Lights
- 12v auxilliary sockets (all, including boot)
- Boot Light
- Rear door windows
- Central locking control of rear doors
- Dead locking

I have checked all fuses and relays and nothing is blown.  Could this be a faulty earth somewhere in the vehicle?

Forscan brings up the following errors:

===PDM DTC B2218-60===
Code: B2218 - Central Lock Line Short Circuit to Ground.

Status:

Any suggestions would be appreciated, otherwise it's off to the auto-electician

Mine too is in velancia and came off the production line on 25/517 and I have been told my dealer will have it on the 17/6/2017. Which is actually a week earlier than I was originally told. Fingers crossed.

The odd messages I was occasionally getting were puzzling me and the mis-recognition of lorry or trailer stickers seems a good explanation for the random  90 kmh  or no overtaking  warnings I get on either the M4 or M27. Clearly it is not every such badge that triggers this - just the odd one every now and then. It cannot be the whole story though. One of my more regular journeys takes me through a village with a picturesque (narrow and winding!) high street. At the same point every time I get a 10 mph warning. There is no sign that I can find - and I have looked - and to the best of my knowledge the limit through the whole village is and always has been 30 mph. I have no idea what is triggering this one.

Just remember that the message is a driving aid but does not remove your responsibility to recognise and drive to the actual signs displayed.

Cheers

I have had my Kuga for a month now and am thoroughly enjoying it. It is a year old with 11000 miles on the clock and was previously the personal company car of the dealership manager where I brought it. My previous car was a C4 Picasso, a very highly rated model and a car I enjoyed so I was a bit concerned about moving on but am glad I did. The Picasso was maybe a better motorway cruiser (although it is very close) but the Kuga is just way more accomplished on more twisty roads, and copes smoothly and easily with stop-start town traffic, which could cause the C4 gearbox a degree of anxt.

I have been following the discussion here with interest as I may be in a similar situation. I brought my car some fifty miles away - from a non-Ford dealer. They however had a car with a powershift transmission that I could test drive, something my local Ford dealer could not manage to provide (but suggested I test drive an S-Max and would then be able to order a Kuga without needing to drive it!). Hopefully they will prove more effective when it comes to servicing the car.

I hope Jason's experience is an exception rather than a rule and that he is able to get his issues resolved - but it is hard once you lose confidence in a car.

The harder compound will give a lower rolling resistance, the change will be in the weight difference between the summer and winter wheels and tyres.
Try weighing the 2 side by side you will be surprised how much larger wheels and low profile tyres weigh.

Grumpy1954 do you run the AC regularly during Winter? That circulates the oil and keeps the seals in good condition. (The AC probably auto switches on if the windscreen demist is selected?)

Over here I believe it's illegal to just regas a system that is low on gas. They're supposed to do a leak test.

Perhaps another dealer would be better- you could explain what's happened and see what they say.

Well I'll agree with you regards weight. I've not weighed the Alloys but the winters on steel are around 20kg each, so if the summers are say another 5kg or even 10kg each thats 40kg additional weight. I dont think 40kg will make that much difference to the MPG, its not as though an additional passenger of say 70kg makes any difference. There could be a discussion the gyroscopic effect of the mass of the summer wheel may affect the mileage more!

In the past I've also regularly travelled (almost monthly for 2 years) from Lincoln to Redditch here in the UK a distance of over 100miles with over 300kg in the car and here it maybe made 1 to 2 mpg difference in the journey with and without 300kg weight. And that was in in my 163ps Kuga not the 180ps. I don't think less weight is the sole reason for the increase.

So bearing in mind the contact area of the winter tyre is possibly slightly less by 2cm and the rubber is softer so requiring slightly less energy to squash when going forward, that's where I get the less rolling resistance.

Hi All,
I have a question and hope some one can help? I just purchase my first Kuga last Saturday after trading in my constant problem child of a Freelander 2. In the rear foot wells of my Kuga it has storage compartments that are covered and empty at the moment. Can anybody tell me what was in these, as I would like purchase the items to restore the car back to original if you know what I mean.

This is my first post so if I have done anything wrong please let me know.

Many thanks in advance,

Paul

Our concern should not this, i think it is a bigger concern that driverless cars will have technology such as this, and if it fails in a car for a driver, just imagine you have a driverless car in front doing 10mph and you have it for a matter of minutes, next is a highway when it suddenly breaks at a 50mph sign? you do more i assume.

All theories but for now, i would not trust driverless cars on roads, maybe just those from Ford :)

Welcome Paul. These are underfloor storage areas so nothing is missing. Page 122 in the handbook if you have one.
