TBH we dont really know......
It as been almost a week now since it last played up....

Myself and our mechanic are still waiting for come back from 2 ford techies about that u1900-20 code.....
So in the mean time it could have been anything that mentioned in a reply earlier last week....

Im wondering if all that constant trying to start etc in some way caused a build up in the DPF as when he had it running the fumes where burning his eyes so he did a forced regen....
Then he recalibrated the EGR and the Throttle valves....
He even removed the EGR to see if it was gunked up and it was clean as can be after 35k miles......
Chkd the cam sensor n the crank sensor voltages all ok...
Fuel pressure is as it should be..
Fuel filter is clean.
He even removed the fuel lines and the fuel was clean....
He also changed the glowplug relay aswell but like i say that code is sonething that we want to directly know what it actually indicates....

No error codes show at all.....
So basically that is it tbh......

After 21,500 miles I'd say there's a good 5mm left on my rears. The fronts are a different story though. They're very close to the 1.6mm markers.

A £300 bill is on the horizon.

Have you tried the key inside one of the fobs? I think after a certain time (28 days?) the car goes into some battery saving type of state.

why not just hotstart the car?

Disconnect the battery (although not a 5second job) wait 30 seconds and reattach wires.
Then you should be able to unlock, if its only a battery saving issue.

Pulling out the key from the fob might also do the trick ;)

Yep same here, although I've just done 23,000 and there's a round 2-3mm on the fronts and 5mm on the rears.  I did the same with the MK1 I had and managed to get over 30,000 before I had to change the fronts.

Thanks for replying. Just wondering how do I use the key as it doesn't have a keyhole. Apologies if I'm being dim:)

All has been well with AWD after the spinning the pump motor to clean it up last October...

but yesterday once again hit by "AWD Malfunction" ... updates to follow.

Kuga story so far in summary:-
Dec-15: AWD malf: Haldex filter, oil and clean pump pick up.
Aug-16: AWD malf: ditto (possible that very hot day released residual scum to filter)
Aug-16: new battery
Oct-16: AWD malf: span motor on a battery briefly to clean it up
May-17: new alternator.
May-17: AWD malf:  ... watch this space...

Mk1 Technical : Sony DAB radio code

Well i would be a little concerned if i was a Kuga owner.
I recently bought a sony DAB Radio Model C394 KUGA DAB from ebay for a good price.
I bought it for my Ford Transit as a upgrade. I had to upgrade the aerial as well.
Now i did have a 4 digit security code that came with the stereo, But to my surprise when i plugged in the stereo i was not ask to enter a security code. The radio came on & i programmed the stations & all good.
This is how i found this site on google as i googled my sony dab did not ask for security code.
So that explains why i got the radio cheap because it is only suppose to work in a Kuga.

However what i would also like to mention is after reading some post on this site i bench tested my sony DAB Radio & i got it working on the bench even without the security code.
So basically the concerned stereo will work in any car or van.

Menu, do you mean for speedo to kph?
If so, scroll down using left steering wheel buttons and go to information and select measurements and click kph. Ta. Then use arrows again to come out back to main menu on the info panel inberween the speedo and tach.

Hi thank you for your reply. This is to change the lights for when driving abroad. Someone mentioned further up in the comments that there is a setting to change this?

Apologies only for this car today so finding all of these little tips.

Ooh, that's a first for me.
It's my understanding that if you've got normal headlamps then you either have to fit beam benders or to use the yellow hex adjusters to lower the light.
On the xenon you don't have to do anything as, according to Mr Ford, the headlamps project a flatter light beam and as long as you don't move to mainland Europe then your fine. If you did you have to fit left hand drive lights.
I've never had an issue with our xenons in Europe. They level automatically anyway for loads but you can still use the yellow hex adjusters to lower them if you want.
I stand corrected if anyone knows better......

Open the rear hatch and in the door jam there should be 2 large 30mm rubber grommets in the top corners the right side is robust and is not a problem, but the left side where the wires would have come through if you bought the gimmicky foot opening option and if you did NOT then you will see a flimsy rubber grommet that is easily displaced possibly by jet washing and is blown through it own hole this is a source of water ingress into the D PILLAR which enters the wheel well.
