Hi all
Thanks to those who have replied

To Spudgun
The unit I saw on ebay is ''ECS 7 Pin Dedicated Towbar Wiring Kit Ford Kuga SUV Mar 2013 Onwards'' if you do a search
It may be a stock photo, but do the components look similar
Sorry in advance  if this is cheaper than the   PF Jones unit

Mine is definitely an ESC kit. It is written in the instructions. If I look at the image on the discount towing supplies on ebay, at what you suggested, then yes all components shown on their stock image are what I have in my box. I hope that helps.

You may find codes stored from it last happening. So if you've got the required OBD2 interface you could give it a go.

Thanks for the reply. Yes I have seen F85 is the switched, it's the permanent active I am unsure of.

Hi Jarrod, do you have access to a multi meter it should be easy to find a permanent live.
The feed for the 12v sockets comes from the fuse box in the boot. Don't know if the dash fuse box has a permanent live.

In the passenger fuse box, fuse positions F71, F72, F73, F69 and F79 appear to be live all the time.

Hi
On my 2014 titanium x the crash bar had to be removed and replaced by towbar itself.

After a holiday in Devon, the mileage is now well over 2k so MPG from now on could start to be more representative.  Even with a tight engine longish runs are already giving 42 - 43 MPG (excluding bank holiday weekend traffic journeys) and overall MPG seems to be creeping up slowly towards the sort of figure that others have reported elsewhere as the likely long term average for this spec Kuga.

I'll write a short summary of how I drive and have been driving for the last 214 000km.
0-60km/h = 1-4th gear, never 5th or 6th.
0-120km/h = 1-6 gears, I use 5th for overtaking and 6th for cruising at constant speed.
Sometimes(maybe once or twice a week) I do high load accelerations. Like 2nd gear and up to 3500rpm.
And also I usually drive 100km distances to my summerhome and back every week.

I have never listened to  those ''eco''driving instructors who say, ''Use 5th or even 6th gear when you are driving 50km/h''
That is why many engines build up cr*p inside and then as a result, not drive like they should.

But they had 12V on before you turned ignition on? The plot thickens. Obviously on a different timer to the power saver as that circuit come on as soon as you unlock the car.

Pop80, I hear what you say, just the knowledge base is added to if we know what does what, though not necessarily why. The fuses we are refering to would normally only be powered when ignition is on.
.

And I replied with the above on page 9.

Are we looking for a permanent live for this last request?

Thanks for the replies guys.

This morning I installed the camera, it literally took me 15 minutes to do the lot! I ended up using the passenger side fuses, F85 for the accessory connection, F73 for the permanent live. I ran the earth to the mounting screw for the glove compartment and everything appears to run as designed.

For anyone interested I used the following cam so it would look similar to the rest of the electronic pack sensors:

I now have the VIN number from the dealer but the ETIS vehicle lookup does not recognise it. It is possible I have not written it down correctly (but I don't think so).

The number I been given is  WF0AXXWPMAHB*****  (the last five digits are numbers), does this look like the correct format?

Titanium, Petrol, Auto.

Advised car is still in Valencia.

Thank you for any advice.
