This is around 7MPG more than my previous car ( Vauxhall Zafira 1.9 TDI )
So I am well pleased with my MK 2

Coming down a hill yesterday, 65mph, I'm sure it dropped 2 gears, revs were up at 4000-4500 ?? Cruise was set at 56mph so I don't know whether it was trying to offer some engine braking in the lower gears to try and bring the speed down. We'll see

In summary, very happy

Great to see you got the camera, perhaps it was a retrofit?

I assume it's the same autobox as the 2.0l EcoBoost has fitted- did you have it in "S" or "D" and does it have the active cruise control? "D" should hold the gear a bit longer before changing down if you're accelerating.

Mine (without the active cruise system) will drop down at least one gear if the cruise detects the speed is increasing over the set limit. If I touch the brakes it will drop down another gear (but also drop out of cruise control)- so I wouldn't be worried about the 4000-4500RPM.

Definitely not beyond the realms of possibility and regularly happens with manufacturer's own company cars.

The VIN and all vehicle details are known before the build starts (VIN plates made up ready for fixing, body stamped accordingly before painting and well before it meets the drive train). The car was originally destined to stay entirely within the Ford Motor Company so, knowing it was coming direct to it's "owner", was registered straight away by Ford UK ready for employee allocation on arrival. No dealer involved.

The vehicle doesn't have to be physically present to be registered and those authorised to register vehicles in the UK (manufacturers, vehicle converters/builders, dealers, importers etc.) are issued with blocks of registration numbers to register vehicles against.

Different countries with different registration systems and vehicle shipping times I guess. You'd never see that here as it would be more like 1-3 months difference. The dealers here would be crazy to pre register a vehicle that was coming on a slow boat from Spain- they'd waste a lot of money if they did.

The map updates would be from the dealer. They've recently introduced free map updates for the Sync2 vehicles in Australia- you might have something similar in the UK? I had mine updated recently when the first check-up service was completed.

I think the wifi might be used for Sync2 system updates? I'm not sure how the Suna traffic system works, which is what I think Ford use?

I've changed the brakes all round including discs and have a bit of a problem. The rear also included the fitting kit and now the pads move in the calipers and give a nice metallic clunk when setting off. The pads were Eicher and the fitting kit was by Pagid.

Any body got any suggestions why it's doing this? The pads were identical to the ones I took off, so I guess this points to the fitting kit but I can't think why it would allow the pads to move unless I was supplied with the wrong fitting kit!

Have a play using FoCCCus, that gets the heart racing when things don't go as planned.  Confused

I'm actually considering disabling the WIFI on mine. I don't see me needing it on and we've all seen what happened to a Jeep that had WIFI.

It's a smart move to attract more people to get their vehicles serviced at Ford, and great bargain for anyone who was already getting their vehicle serviced at Ford. I think it's a free update once per year, I just pushed the envelope a bit and got it done on the first inspection. I bought it new from that dealer so they were hardly going to tell me I would have to wait until the 12mth service.

Nice one. Well see if it on offer over here. I'll probably be in for first service in Dec/Jan, looks like I'm going to be doing 15000 a year rather than 24000 a year as per the previous 2 years.

Do you have a autobox? As this could be your warning symbol.

Mk1 How-To? : Step by step guide to change the fuel filter?

Hi all,

My version of changing the fuel filter is different. It was very easy, could be done in half an hour.

I have late 2010 4x4 Kuga 2.0tdci (103kW) with Powershift. The filter cover is bolted on with four torx screws, so I did not need to screw the cover of by socket and therefore I did not need to disconnect fuel lines at all.

First I only had to open plastic philips head screw on filter cover to let air in to get rid of under pressure/vacuum. Then lift the cover of. I empty the filter box because there was some particles in the diesel.

Changed the filter and gasket and but some new diesel in. I screwed the torx screws evenly because old gasket looked like it was not correctly installed. Finally filled the filter carefully from the same hole where the plastic philips head screw was and started the car. It started for a while but now runs fine.

Hopefully this will fix my starting problems and might help others...

I think it might be the compass in the top right of the information screen on the centre display unit. Indicating your direction of travel.

Hi, I have been told that there is an alternative fuse holder for the power sockets that will turn the power off to these sockets when the ignition is off? At present they are permanently on.

Thanks

Pumped my vehicle vin code into etis and discovered a field service action outstanding on my vehicle.the action involves the brake servo pipe being too close to the turbo which could result in the pipe failure and the resultant serious brake performance reduction.I approached the .local Ford dealer who was totally unaware though he said he would order the new parts required .To me this seems a very low key approach by Ford to a potentially dangerous situation . Your views welcome......Rick

We have just bought and love our Kuga Titanium X but we have two little ones in the back. Does anyone know if the panoramic roof protects them from sunlight? Also do we still need side window shades as the car has privacy glass? Thanks in advance.

Thanks picked up all the previous comments ,new to the site so I don't know my way round yet .my build date was sept 2015 so it does seem to be build date related .Must lean on the dealer to get the bits in quickly,as I find my brakes quite useful!!! Rick
