We have a Fiesta with Sync 1.1 which recognises the Spotify application on my mobile. You can use voice commands to start Spotify and specify a playlist to listed to. Spotify is listed under the 'Sync-applications' menu option.

I can't find the equivalent option within Sync 2 in the Kuga. Have they taken away the mobile application connectivity in Sync 2? The Ford website still lists a number of Sync compatible apps, but the instructions for using them all refer to Sync 1, not Sync 2.

I can't tell if this is because the instructions don't refer to Sync 2, or they just haven't bothered updating screenshots and instructions.

Anyone else using mobile apps with Sync 2?

I believe all vehicle glass must filter UV light.

Plus you can always pull the interior mesh across it does the front and back separately.

As for the shades with the privacy glass it is quite dark in the back already and I don't think they would  benefit you.

Hi All

Apologies if this is in the wrong section, but I've just bought a 2015 Kuga Sport and was wondering whether the petrol cover should lock when the car is locked ?  We were shown that it didn't have a petrol cap as most other cars have but I thought that the cover itself would lock once we locked the car - or do I need to do something else ?

any help greatly appreciated as I would like to sort this with the dealership if its faulty

Thanks in advance

Hello and welcome!

No the flap doesn't lock.

Since the Kuga was first launched in the UK back in 2008 it's had the Ford Easy Fuel system fitted meaning there's no fuel cap and no locking of the flap.

Some past discussions on the merits, or otherwise, of the system can be found here:

Hi Gazwats

Thank you for your reply and giving me some piece of mind.  I've had plenty of cars which have either had petrol caps or lockable covers but never one with neither.  Was just worried that it was faulty.

On a slightly different topic, I've got the lights set to auto but noticed that the lights are on even in the daytime - is this normal.  Apologise in advance for all these questions but just want to make sure everything is working as it should be.  Its almost a year old so is still under Ford warranty but as its my first ever Kuga I'm just asking experienced owners such as yourself who know whether this is normal or not.

Again thank you in advance

Hi, I have recently upgraded from a mark 1 to a mark 2 2015 Titanium X with auto lights. I too have noticed the lights are very sensitive to shade under trees for example. On my drive to work the sun can he fully out but as soon as I enter any sort of shaded area the lights come on. Maybe others can tell us whether this is same across the range or can the sensitivity be adjusted as I say mine are constantly on off particularly driving in the country. Are they all the same?

At the bottom of your screen you've got 3 icons i/home/menu. I've only got home/menu at the bottom of my screen so I wondered what the i was for, if it was related to the satnav?

You're right , they are very sensitive and there is no adjustment. Take more notice of cars coming toward you and you can tell which ones have auto lighting activated, they're nearly all the same

If the lights are on all the time then the sensor is faulty.

You will also find the auto wipers default to standard intermittent as well.

A new sensor is around £75 from Ford

If you have a faulty sensor it should be covered by warranty.

We take it your in Auto and not headlight driving mode.

I've never used auto lights and have noticed on other cars that they come on when you wouldnt normally put them on. They are great on inner ring roads and tree lined roads, I see them on cars behind me, on and off as you travel. On the Kuga with Xenon headlight, the first time they switch on I guess the guy in front gets a dose of high beam as the system goes through a self leveling sequence possibly adding some confusion.

As an aside, I guess the same sensor is used for the autolights as for automatic dimming of the instrument cluster, which also adjust the SATNAV light level, and that certainly changes level as you travel under some dense trees, though there is a separate offset adjustment on the SATNAV too.

Hi Fillco, common sense and Ford do not go hand in hand. First dealer did not find the water ingress and told me it was a software issue. I am not sure if they even looked at the car as the second dealer found that the electrics were saturated and connectors corroded with 30 mins. It took Ford six months to provide a complete new loom but gave no excuse or an apology. I am still getting the service warnings and limp mode. Ford really have no idea. Customer Service are appalling. No idea what to do next.

The trouble is (and I know I'm generalizing) , the electrical technicians are usually mechanics that have an aptitude for the electrical aspect of cars, and tick boxes dont work for fault finding electrical systems, particularly on modern vehicles. Plugging a laptop in to tell you what faults are present is great, but it may not tell you what caused the fault, or in your case multiple faults.

Multiple faults should ring alarm bells.

From another thread, your car has been in for warranty work. So perhaps a less sinister reason why yours no longer has any outstanding actions is that they sorted it while it was in.....

I just had a bit of a Google and you can actually buy the steering angle sensor. The part number (going by a 2014 Ford Escape parts listing) is DV6Z3F791C . http://www.oepartsstore.com/p/Ford_2014_Escape20L-EcoBoost-4WD/Angle-sensor-Sensor-STEERING-SENSOR-ASSY-Steering-Wheel-Position-Sensor/64835002/DV6Z3F791C.html

If it's under warranty let them replace the whole rack Wink  they're probably not interested in pulling everything apart!

Hello

I bought my Ford Kuga new last year. I don't drive much and now, a year later, I am only approaching 3000 km. The oil change message is being displayed, despite the fact that the information brochure recommends an oil change at 10 000 km. The mechanics want to charge me an arm and leg for an oil change that I do not believe is needed right now. What is your opinion?
Thank you kindly
Annalie
