Hey all,
So we have had our Titanium X 2013 for just over two weeks now, we love it, it is literally a fantastic car!

With one (hopefully resolvable) problem.
I am 6ft and I can not drive the Kuga for more than an hour without getting serious ankle pain, and I mean to the point of having to stop.
I have tried adjusting the electric seats in every position I can think of but can just not get the angle right for where my ankle rests of the accelerator pedal (its only my right foot)

We have a fiesta as well MK 7 and I have drove that for miles and miles and miles with no pain or discomfort at all.

Is this common? is there a simply adjustment I have missed?

Thanks!

By eye they were about half brightness. And at least in my car, there is no reverse light or any other reverse related relays in the engine compartement relay/fuse box.
That is why I started with cleaning the earthing points and then got a new switch.

Oh. I was going by the wiring diagrams and handbook for the MK1 downloaded from links provided this site and it shows relays in the engine compartment fuse box. If there isnt a relay then indeed if the reverse switch contacts go high resistance you could get half lights or no lights.

So the handbook does show relays in the diagrams of fuse boxes? I know it doesnt list relays but in ten diagrams on the my downloaded copies shows relay positions.

Have you got cruise control? Perhaps use it as often as you can to give your ankle a stretch. If you've got the active cruise control and city braking it should work really well in the suburbs.

Its still about the same length of a traditional handbrake even though the handle is on a radius arm. What is worrying is the linkage the button must operate through.

Pity MBC above didnt notice the position of the lever when he went back to his car.

Either the brake has relaxed and the lever is still in position or the lever has moved because the ratchet has slipped due it resting on the tip of a tooth and not in the groove and handle has dropped a tooth.

Dave are you able to view the ratchet mechanism in your sample.

Should be easy enough to spot me among all the other white Kugas...   apart from the black 'nose' that is sometimes evident (the stone guard is used mainly on longer runs), the Reg. plate should make it simples ...   P2 KUG

Give us a toot if you do.  Often found roaming the midlands, the north-east and the south-west.

There must be some builds still in the built channel up to October delivery that could possibly be altered IF only they opened up those d*rn order books ... I'll check back in tomorrow with the broker! If they are taking orders now for the new one, maybe the books on the MK2 2016 have opened up again too :) staying hopeful ... maybe someone out there with a built for a Titanium Sport has changed their minds and would rather have the new one? :) Any of you? :)

I assume that as this is not a recall. So it will probably be sorted next time the vehicle has to visit the dealer for service or other reason.

Maybe the build date is significant . Mine was built mid February 2016.

My first Kuga was built 15/12/14 and my current one 21/9/15 so there could be quite a few cars out there needing this fix.

I'm just thinking that since your current car's build date is 09/2015 and mine is 02/2016, the issue doesn't affect 2016 build dates which therefore explains why ETIS shows nothing for my car even though it has the same engine.

It sounds like they discovered a minor problem and came up with a fix from 2016 build dates. Maybe they've waited to see if the fix is doing the job before issuing the FSA for older EU6 cars. Of course, I could be completely wrong!

Perhaps coming from driving lower vehicles it will take time to get used to? We've had a string of "SUV's" over the last 12 odd years mixed in with normal cars. It is a big change in seating position, but ultimately a lot friendlier if you're getting older.

My wife and I have both got arthritis and the extra seat height can be a blessing on bad days for entering and exiting. Perhaps stick to shorter trips for a while that don't aggravate your ankle. Then build up to longer periods.

I hope it works out for you as it would be bad to have to look at selling it because it doesn't "fit". PS: I wonder if there are physios who specialise in vehicle related problems? There might even be something you could affix to the accelerator to change the angle your ankle sits at?

Thanks. I didn't get the chance to call in my dealers. Roadworks have started on the roundabout nearby them causing traffic problems so I altered my route.

Overall picture, just a small part of the show...

I didn't see many Kuga's there, plenty of others though, time for us to make a showing next year ?
