Towed caravan 1450 MTPL with Mk 1 Kuga 2.0 FWD for over 9000 miles and rarely new it was on the back with speeds up to 70mph (France)?. Never did better than 25mpg but usually 23/24 mpg using strict monitoring zeroing the Average MPG as soon as I hooked up van and read at unhitch. Brilliant tow car upgraded to Mk2 when started suffering Limp mode on last 4 tows but uptil then it was great .

If you have a Towbar fitted you can't fit the rear towing eye. It tells you in the manual (2016) to use the Towbar instead.

Well, got the car back today, full front bumper painted, bonnet painted and small dent sorted on drivers door, £320 all in and I'm well pleased. It looks like its just left showroom, they've done a brilliant job, not a stone chip anywhere.
Just fitted a bonnet protector too, its a very dark acrylic (same material as the climair wind deflectors) and blends in great with panther black ......fingers crossed now that it doesn't happen again although I know some chips are inevitable.
PS.....still haven't received a return phone call from Chips Away, so much for customer service

I am not 100% but etis site seems to say mine was not factory fitted too, although i was informed so.
I have both display and audio for front and rear sensors here.

Would it not be a question of how it was fitted? I believe Ford did mine on front and back, so they probably updated the software as well, and of course used original sensors?

There are a lot of cheap sensors you can buy with audio functions, but then its DIY or a local mec you ask for help.

When in reverse does your "beep" come out of multiple speakers the closer you get or just the one? On mine it seems to be a speaker located on the left hand side in the boot. I have also looked on ETIS and it says my model doesn't come with the tyre monitoring system which is surprising as it's a 64 PLATE Titanium trim

Ha ha! I was just wondering why there were two separate possible foam-shaped locations for it. I'm probably overthinking this whole thing! Lol

Can anyone help out on the Deflation Detection System?

From what I've found:

1. It operates on the ABS sensors (no in tyre pressure sensors) and new UK models have it standard.

2. The information display in the instrument panel has options for setting/ resetting it.

3. I found a post saying a higher model BCMII is required.

4. Field 101 in the BCM settings "Tyre Pressure Monitoring System" is set to "06 Unknown" on a UK spec 2016 Titanium X.

Are there any other components/ settings required for it to operate?

Yes a normal ball limit switch. And your reversing lights were definitely only half illuminated? (DIM). I could see that if the switch itself was switching the lights and not a relay, unless the relay closing and opening fast (chattering/buzzing) which would give you half lights.

Its academic now as it working.

Thank you so much, very helpful thread.
Having recently acquired a 61 (2011) plate 2.0 163 AWD and 33K on the clock, I've read this with great interest! Contacted the local Fraud agents regarding a Haldex oil/filter service, said they'd phone back after speaking to tech - no reply, might chase later but not surprised really, as nothing but poor service in the past.

After having a quick look to check-out the input shaft flange for access, couldn't help but notice the unit appeared cleaner than expected. Took a few pics as considering the DIY route, only to notice what may be a date code on the pump (19/02/2015?) and nice clean label - see below:

and a slightly brighter filter housing cover:

Possibly a new pump and filter recently? Be very grateful for confirmation of my suspicions re date code (I'm assuming it's a manufacturing date, not a 'best before date' )

Ive just looked at the Danish configuator and you have the same Convenience Pack option that we have here.  So if you have factory fit front sensors then you must have auto park and power fold mirrors?
I got autopark(semi?) and fold mirrors  but i understood this to be part of the Titanium series?

exactly, i have to press the button when i am driving (slowly) into a parking space, it is only automated when i go into reverse gear ;(  (I tend to forget to activate the front parking sensor)

Hi guys - sorry for re-opening this thread but I googled around as I'm also facing a similar issue with my 2016 Ford Kuga. It's nearly 4 weeks old and I've noticed a distinct squeak noise when the clutch is nearly at full travel (similar to what you describe).

Did you manage to get this resolved with the dealer in the end? I think I have my 1 month / 1,000 mile check so might bring it up then.

Thanks!

Not been able to return to dealer yet due to lack of time. I'm living with the issue at the moment. Let us know how you get on.

Well they were dim, but still lit. Also one thing that got my attention was the reverse sensors beeping. Once the gear is engaged it beeps once to let you know you're in gear. But at those times it did not.
After a new switch all seems to work just fine including the beep.

I was looking around in the electrical schematics of the Kuga. I am no electrician but I did notice that only relays are inside the central control boxes.
But I'm glad it worked for me. Now this can be something others can look out for.

My dealer was terrible. They had 2 attempts and it still looked like cr*p, so I did it myself and I'm very happy with the results. This operation was a GIANT PITA. Also, CAUTION, this DIY is not for the unskilled!!! The support arms are under tension so things can go south in a hurry!!!

I marked the location of the hinges and striker plate. You MUST remove the support arms in order to do this or they will just push your door backwards. And don't forget, you have to support your door first. I needed to move the door to the left 1/16" and the right side up a heavy 1/16"". This is what my marks looked like after movement. Then I tackled the striker. Mine was on with blue locktite and I swear I thought the T40 driver was going to break. I have never encountered a bolt torqued this tight. Again, using a sharpie I outlined the plate before starting.
Moved it about 1/16" to the right. It is a great design for non movement because the bolt is an oval head and the plate has a conical countersunk recess. The PROBLEM is when you adjust it will just keep going back to the original factory location. So to overcome this I used washers to ride above. I put it on as frigging tight as I could and crushed the washer a little and I'm confident it won't move. But I may buy another striker plate and have my welder friend just fill in the countersunk holes. Then I can put it on the milling machine and make proper through holes and use grade 8 flanged bolts. Or I can use the plate I have and just drill through the plate in two other location and tap it using like a 10-32 and "lock" the plate in position.

After I was finished.

Thanks for your input guys...
I had a test drive in the 180bhp 2L Tdci Auto 4x4 Kuga Tit X and it was ok, but I really needed Memory seats(like on the escape) :(

And on third inspection the boot was / a little too snug as well, So I won't be Joining the Gang This Time around :)

Were they really dim and almost not illuminated, not half light, as I could imagine that the electronic sensor/sounder module and the reversing mirror (according to the wiring diagram there is a connection for the autodimming mirror to turn off dimming in reverse) could actually provide some back voltage/current but I'd expect the lights to be very dim and almost not illuminated.

Again the wiring diagram shows the reversing light relay located in the engine compartment and the copy of a MK1 handbook I downloaded shows relays in the engine compartment fuse box.

I don't know what was standard when you bought your car but it's an option pack now.

"Semi-automatisk parkeringssystem, parkeringssensor for og bag samt el-foldbare sidespejle"

It would appear a mistake on ETIS regarding your sensors.

Thanks,
Anyways, i love it, has already been a huge help getting out of tight parking spaces with just 1 meter behind, a little in front, so many back&forwards to get out, and without sensors, i would probably have done triple the steps :)
