It's not quite the same as the offside one and doesn't drop below the level of the boot floor. It was definitely there on pre 2016 models too as I left the pump there in my other Kuga.

I am trying to connect my Nextbase Dashcam to my 64 plate Kuga.  In my previous car it was wired into a system fuse that was only live when ignition key turned on (as directed by Nextbase installation instructions). However in Kuga I cannot find a similar fuse, all seem to have permanant 12v with ignition on or off! Is it because its a press button start as opposed to turn key style ignition?

Can anyone please advise on a fuse preferably in glove box fuse panel (or anywhere else for that matter) that I could use.  Or is it a peculiarity of the push button ignition that all fuses have a constant 12v supply??

Got to say when I first saw the Edge I wasn't that impressed, thought it was over priced and not that big, but today I have been driving an Edge Titanium Auto, supplied as a courtesy car as my new Kuga has a mark on the bumper, and it's amazing.   Very luxurious and fast, smooth, everything I could expect. Priced I think at about £35500 with the lux pack, it is a lovely car.   This one is in Magnetic Grey, and looks beautiful. Titanium Kev and anyone else who can buy one, you will love it, it's a lovely car.

Have a look at the previous page and check fuse position 87. There probably won't be a fuse fitted but the contacts should be there.

Just back from a 2500 mile holiday in France in our 2012 163 Titanium AWD. The car has now done 47k and admittedly it's been predominantly local short journeys in the main with occasional motorway or long distance runs with a little bit of horse trailer towing once in a blue moon.

Anyway, returning from France on Sunday and the dreaded red triangle engine malfunction, triple alert tone, and suddenly we're in limp home mode on the M6 at Northampton. I nurse it to Rothersthorpe services and switch off. No amber warning lights so I switch back on and all is good. Off we set again and all is normal then on the M6 toll about 50 miles on it dies the same again. I stop and switch off and on and everything is normal once more, so off we go again.

We stop near Haydock Park for lunch then back on the M6 but 11 miles later at Charnock Richard again we're in limp home mode mid overtake but we also have the engine management light on this time and it doesn't go off.

We call Ford Assist and the AA arrives with their diagnostic machine which shows a possible DPF sensor failure. The fault is reset and Mr AA kindly follows us to Lancaster services where there are no repeats, but we are advised to get it checked by our dealer. We eventually get to Scotland without issue then two further instances of limp home before we eventually get to our house.

I took the car to the dealer next day and twice on the 25 mile journey it goes into LHM and its booked in at the dealer. Subsequently diagnosed as the DPF pressure sensor fault and that is replaced followed by a regeneration of the DPF and £250 lighter in my wallet.

This appears from reading threads here to be a very common issue, so why after years of issues are we still getting the same faults cropping up repeatedly ???

Come on Ford !!!   Sort it out.   I love the Kuga but it leaves a bitter taste in the mouth. I want to get an Edge Sport later this year, but I certainly don't want Ford Electrical Gremlins.

Tommo, this is different to the start of this thread and there are many instances of the DPF sensor failing in Ford diesels introduced around 2008. Its a common fault, and does look like the sensor isnt upto the job and suffers premature failure. I suspect the replacement sensor is now an updated model but how do you prove this.

Fillco, you have been correct. Thank you for the information. The +12v line goes to sleep after 30min.
So I have tested and tried and you can wire your radio(or othe electronics) this way if you'd like.

Thank you again.

Now I have changed the sensor that is located right next to the shifter linkage on the gearbox. Just below the airfilter housing.
I have not driven the car just yet, but I did engage and disengage reverse roughly 10x.
And during those times the lights worked full power. So this looks good but I will look out for more issues.
I can post up a picture of the old sensor if you're interested.
Thanks

Yes would be interesting. Trying to work out how you get half light when the lights are powered via a relay. Relay is either on or off unless it has poor contacts but changing sensor wouldnt cure the relay contacts, however if all is OK, thats good.

Recently just bought a 64 plate 2.0 AWD Titanium which has the Sony radio infotainment system, the car has got rear parking sensors however in some photos on websites it shows on the screen "Parking Pilot" however mine does not seem to show that. Was just wondering why this is? Thanks Kieran.

Has anyone used their Kuga to tow a horse and trailer and what they thought of it? It's a 2.0 AWD 163BHP and will be towing a combined weight of around 1.4 tonne

Unless your car is taking part in some kind of tug-of-war, I can't see why you would need to use more than one towing eye at once.
