What does everything else works mean?

If you put your headlights on do they look OK or dont they light. If they do then its not a dead battery.

Did about 400 miles to mid Wales return with a bit of running around (45 miles). Used A10, A14, M6, M54 & A5 so mostly dual carriageway & motorways. No heavy traffic and both journeys to & from no traffic hold ups 3.25 hours non stop. Mk1 180 TitaniumX TDCI auto. Standard 18 inch wheels. Only got an overall MPG OF 35.7. Did not exceed 70 & used the cruise control most of the time. No hard acceleration or heavy breaking. Only myself and wife in the car with 2 small cases for 4 day stay. Not too happy with that.

Head Up Display, as i read about it in another section. Ordered one from dx.com, still waiting for it.

Maybe a OBDII reader, just checking settings of my car. Found a Ford compatible usb obdii reader on amazon uk, which should be modified for Kuga as well.

FYI: To avoid any confusion I've just removed a post from a Mk2 owner quoting their MPG figures as this is the Mk1 MPG thread, they're two different vehicles, engines, technology etc etc.

Mine work absolutely flawlessly, I love it.

Only downside is when i stop at a red light and want to move then some inches forward, so it kicks back in just to take me there. Not annoying though, but I don't like to know it kick in so many times, as I am skeptical about its lifetime.

Hi checked using VIN.

Still not conclusive.  From VIN check:
  • With Rear Parking Aid
  •  With Front Parking Aid
  •  With Automated Parking System

The main reason I had hoped it had perpendicular parking was because I have arthritis in my neck and shoulders and find it difficult to look over my shoulders when reversing.  Oh! well with the rear view camera, large wing mirrors and 45+ years driving experience I'm sure I'll manage.

Thanks again for your help and advise.

At least I now know why my local dealer keeps trying to sell me a new MK2 at a seriously reduced price. I'd buy one if I liked the way they looked, but I don't. Think the face-lifted one looks great though and as my MK1 has been absolutely brilliant I may well be tempted.

I'd put good money on his reason actually being down to pressure to hit his new registration sales targets, this new uplift is still 8 months away from going on sale and possibly 9 months away from hitting the road in any significant numbers, so I doubt that's the reason behind it IMHO.

Totally agree.

The new model won't be out till at least 66 plate, Sept, and the current deals being offered to me are too good to be true I won't be waiting for the facelift

Hi guys I've just purchased my Kuga which is mk1 61 plate. I'm also new to DAB radios. I noticed today on my way to Nottingham that whilst listening to the DAB radio it sounded like it had bad reception. Some channels stopped working all together.

Is this normal?

Is there any way to improve reception?

Am I missing something? (No puns please) ☺

Well, I've had my MK1 Kuga five years now and it's the first time he's done it so maybe he's just had a bad year.
