It very occasionally happens on mine if I go over a nasty bump, not often though.

My Ford Kuga is currently in the Ford shop getting the front grill replaced because my husband went to pop the bonnet and didn't even get to put the key right in and the entire barrel fell through the inside of the grill. So guess what....going to cost us over $600 to have a brand new grill replaced because apparently its not as easy as just replacing the key barrel !  I am fairly peeved off as we not long ago had the head replaced because it blew up on us (repaired under warrently, thank god). The trimmings around the electric window buttons are constantly coming off.  And about 18 months ago we had a break in at our home and had the keys stolen.  Thankfully the thieves were extremely dumb and couldn't start the car but they took the keys anyway.  When we went to Ford to have them replaced it cost us a whopping $1600 for two keys because for some reason it wasn't as easy as just sending away for replacements.  they came in parts and had to get sent to the locksmith...blaa, blaa, blaa.  This car is costing us a fortune and I must admit that it has really turned me off Ford.  (The service at our local Ford dealer is also not that much to write home about).  I have a Toyota Hi-Lux and wished I had purchase two of them.

It definitely has the active grill shutters.

As you say, it's a very poor show from Ford.

Maybe its that 7.5amp F28 that is now active grill instead of adaptive cruise control.

Poor show, well, 'it'll do' attitude more like, unfinished. They spend millions if not billions to revise the car and dont employ someone to chase the relevant disciplines to ensure the owners manual is technically correct. The designers should appreciate this themselves.

I don't think it'll come as any surprise that the handbook shows exactly the same as the online version.

Unfortunately the elements are sandwiched between a plastic laminate and 2 pieces of glass so you cant repair them.

I too was hoping there was a fix. I have a one-inch strip right in front of me that takes longer to clear ice. It does eventually but that may just be heat conducting from the adjacent elements.

Either live with it, or get it replaced by insurance.
Here we have insurance and the glass will be replaced when big stone chips.

Welcome to the forum Anj29.

The locking mechanism is fairly easy to (and intended to) detatch - I remember having to do it when removing the grill (several times!) to fit DRLs.  I'm fairly sure that even if there are parts needed they can't be that expensive.

Broken bonnet catches have been discussed on the forum before so you might find this thread interesting.

Good luck.

There are actually two elements one on each side that meet in the middle so it is usual to have a small gap but one inch does seem much more than usual.

No, the strip is right in front of me, not the middle of the screen.

It may well be replaceable under warranty but, to be honest, I'd rather live with it than have the monkeys over here touch it (it took them 2+ days to replace a screen in my previous Kuga that had a big rock chip in it). I might check with the local Ford garage in the UK when I bring it over for a service in the Summer.

Yeah sounds like incompetent monkeys. At least here(Tallinn) they usually change the glass within like 3h. Without any issues. I only go to special glass companies for this.

So, I was perusing the Ford Kuga brochure last night and looking at all the features the tit x sport has, and is what we've got on order.

I noted that all models were showing as having stop/start.

Is that right? Ours will have powers shift, which I thought it wouldn't work on. Can't see why not though as long it's in neutral.

So kuga nerds crack on and enlighten me.

The car has been ok today, went to pop out earlier, pressed the start button and nothing, everything else works! Is there a diagnostics mode for the cluster so i can see the voltage? I think it could be the dead battery syndrome ive read about, the car is a late 2014 1.5t AWD titx with about 13k on the clock.

Any tips? dont mind getting the AA out but id prefer to try the easy fixes first

Or is it knackered and needing a visit back to Ford?

Stop-start on the Powershift is very annoying at times as it kicks in all the time and not just in neutral. It restarts as soon as you take your foot of the brake but if you find yourself able to go once you've stopped at a junction or roundabout and need to go quickly you can catch the system out. I often switch it off.

I wish it was like the manual I had before and only kicked in in neutral.
