I had the exact same issue.
It was the fuel being too sooty & blocking the DPF.
I poured in a bottle of additive & did several static regenerations.
I only use branded ultimate diesel (usually Esso Ultimate) & problem never came back.
What happens is the DPF filters out the soot which blocks it, the engine management computer monitors the pressure across the DPF when the pressure rises it begins a regeneration programme to burn out the soot by adding fuel into the exhaust tp raise the temperature to 800-800 degrees, if the fuel is poor quality it produces a lot of soot.
When the engine injects fuel into the exhaust because it's poor quality it produces even more soot & blocks even quicker.
The high quality fuel produces significantly less soot as it's much cleaner burning.
Short repetitive journeys are bad as the engine management system never gets a chance to do a DPF regeneration.
