Due to delays in delivery we picked ours up on the Friday evening and had to do some running around to the tune of 100 or so miles then, on the Saturday morning, we hitched up the caravan and did 205 miles to our holiday site.  Had to do this as we had cancelled our holiday once as car wasn't ready in July when promised and took another month and I couldn't get time of work until end September.  I took it steady all the way there and, to date, the car seems to have suffered no ill effects.

When you lift the rear seats up from being folded flat with the floor with the handle on the side, the first stop is in an upright position and there is a gap between the seat back and the boot cover, if you just lift the handle again and at the same time push back the seat will go slightly further back and there will be no gap between the back of the seat and the boot cover.
The seats may have been lifted to this position prior to you getting the car, and, all that needs you to do is lift the handle ( which is on the passenger seat side) and push the back of the rear seat at the same time till it is fully reclined.Tongue

Regardless of whether you have a Mk1 or Mk2 Kuga if you happen to have a Kuga with Xenon headlights then you will have headlight washers as standard as they're a legal requirement on all vehicles fitted with Xenon lights.

On the Mk1 what looks like a piece of trim pops out and squirts the washer fluid then pops back into the housing, I guess it's something similar on the Mk2 albeit something that either pops out of the bumper itself or pops out of the headlight housing.

A video on the Mk1 headlight washers:

Hi has anyone removed the rear bumper? I'm looking at spraying the silver coloured panel the same colour as the car on a titanium x .I was looking at removing just the silver infill panel but you can't get to the top fixings as the bumper bar is in the way. I know it's a strange request but I think it would look good

well my Tit manual is still struggling to get low to mid twenties with the van, and got to be honest, its still not that good solo. Ato 9100 miles, id have thought the engine would have "loosened" up by now...but seems as tight a day one. Im still very causious towing past 60mph (over taking of course) as the front end on the Kuga seems to get lighter and Twitchy. Its not a big van and 1030 empty, prob close to 1300 loaded. Sooooo still no further forward than i was 19 months ago. Also put £30 in the tank today, it had 170 left dist to empty and only weny up to 302 after the £30 topup ???? sumthin not right ??

There's a large long standing thread in the Mk2 sub forum where fellow Mk2 owners are disscusing the subject of the Mk2 MPG:

I averaged 39.4 today to London and back, about 300 miles, on an engine that at the start of the journey only had 130 miles on. Quite happy with that on a new engine.
You'll do well to get what any manufacturer quotes, as those figures are dreamt up in perfect lab conditions!

I tow a Swift twin axle caravan that is just under 1800kgs with my AWD 180 Powershift Kuga which has covered 10k. The outfit tows superbly and is very stable. Towing at around 60mph it returns 25-27 mpg. ((Averages 40-42 solo) I do find that it is essential to increase the tyre pressures to the full load recommendation of 35F & 41R and make sure the nose weight is correct as this makes a massive difference to the stability.

Hi.
Have had a new FWD 150hp TD since last September, I'm in a lucky position that the car costs me peanuts through my employers, run a RAV4 for three years previously and that was 100% reliable but like a Land Rover compared to the much more civilised Kuga, really happy with the quiet strong engine, much more grunt than the 2.2ltr Toyota.

Hi.
My 65 plate FWD 150 TD has 10k on the clock now, car says it was doing 47mpg in warmer weather but over winter doing 45mpg so happy with that, doing mixed driving, motorway and town. Previous RAV4 2.2 ltr was doing 36mpg, Kuga has more grunt at lower revs so more power less fuel = happy days Smile

Just thought I'd look through the Ford etis list for the 180 PS Diesel and was surprised to find that the Supplementary heater is not listed which was on the MK2 and also on the MK1 (in a larger size).

Anyone with a new 180PS find it takes a long time until heat comes through into the cabin. Maybe they have reconfigured the cooling system so that it doesnt need an additional electric heater.
