Mk1 Technical : Erratic throttle

Hi,

I have a 2009 2.5 ST Titanium and noticed the throttle behaves strangely especially when the cruise control is trying to maintain speed. The best way to describe it is "surgey" as it hunts for the correct speed. An on/off/on/off sensation. It also does the same sort of thing when trying to manually maintain low speeds and when the engine's cold.

I have done a little research and seen there could be an issue with a throttle position sensor or a fuel pressure sensor. Could this be?

Best,

Christen

Hi all. I've successfully paired my IPhone 6 with my 6000CD headset. It's the only phone in its memory, yet I'm getting unknown numbers on dial? I've checked, debonded, paired again, with the same issue. Have I missed something? Or is there a known problem when using I6? Thanks.

Autoglass done mine.   Yes it does have the rain and light sensors and was all done by the Autoglass fitter.   No need to go to a ford dealer.   The windscreen wipers set themselves up once turned on.

Will try recreating with hosepipe on my drive as only time it's happening is in heavy rain on mway.

And yep windscreens had the full autoglym treatment a number of times. I've been running my fingers over it inch by inch in case there was a chip that wasn't visible to the eye etc. The only thing I had left to check was replacing he wiper but as I say it's still happening.

I know it's only a small thing but this forum is full of people who've all paid a lot for cars with niggles like this so I feel like it should be sorted.

Read through all 9 pages here and can't see anyone comment on a rear mounted rack. I'm only 5'5" and want to carry 1 kids bike (BMX) now and again so roof rails are not really what I want.

I've looked on Halfords purely for an idea of price. I liked the idea of the Saris solo but according to their website that doesn't fit the MK 2 although if I stump up for a 3 bike one it will!

There's the Halfords basic one at around £50 but looks faffy to put on.

Any recommendations for a simple to sling on rack please?

Hi All, Tomorrow I jump out of my three year old Nissan Qashqai and into a new Kuga Titanium 2.0 deisel. I just hope it lives up to the reviews that count (real owners) and not the ones written by geeks, sat in their magazine offices. Figures crossed and I hope to give an update in the next couple of weeks.

Collected my first Kuga yesterday after 4 years of Smax.
Proud owner of a white, titanium X sport. So far, apart from the lack of storage bins, it's a big thumbs up! Especially like the reversing camera and the SYNC system. Hopefully it will be as reliable as my Smax was, that never let me down in 4 years!

Hi everyone,
please don't all shout at me.I used to own a mondeo  estate auto and as a driver I started to get a ache in the right leg(thigh) after driving for a while.I decided to change to a Kuga manual and was okay with it and then after some time the ache came back.It was like a dead leg and could never see why I was getting it.Anyway after a couple of years I decided to change to a Volvo XC60 auto and have never had any problems at all.I would like to ask is anyone else having the same issue?

That sounds very high,   I wouldn't inflate more than the maximum shown on the chart. I think my dad increases his rears about 4 lb from normal when towing,

Hi people.
I've recently purchased a Mk 2 Kuga and had decided on re-covering the armrest. I've got the leather cover from eBay and removed the armrest from the car but am struggling to see how to separate the inner plastic from the outer shell that is currently covered in the vinyl.
I can't see anything else holding it together so I'm guessing it may be bonded? Didn't want to force the issue and break it so I Googled and ended up here....
Can anyone help?

I follow the handbook recommendation for full load, which from memory is 34 front and 42 rear. (18 inch wheels) I find having the correct towing pressure does make a very noticeable difference to the outfit stability.

I've moved the OP out of the Mk1 sub forum as the question relates to the Mk2 Kuga.

In response to some deleted posts:

Does it really matter whether a post is removed? Or whether a post that has no particular meaning to anyone in particular is posted and then immediately removed?

Responding to a spurious post and then seeing that spurious post plus the follow up post removed should be enough to say that the post(s) in question have no meaning or bearing on a thread hence their removal.

As it goes there are operational things that have to take place to help make this forum a source of applicable and relevant information to Mk1 & Mk2 Kuga owners hence that particular post and many others like it.
