Mk2 General Discussion : MK2 with TMPS in the wheel with winter wheels

Subject: MK2 with TMPS in the wheel with winter wheels

I bought a set of Borbet 16" alloys with Nokian winter tyres when i got my first Kuga in 2010. I transferred them to my new Mk2 in 2013. Both cars had/have TPMS, and I've always been able to set and store the pressures, according to the settings messages.

After 5+ winter seasons, I felt recently that they weren't giving me the grip they used to (they were not quite down to the 'winter' wear mark) and had some new Michelin Lattitude Alpins fitted today. I mentioned the sensors and it turns out the Borbets don't have them. So how come the settings steps are allowing me to set and store the pressures?

I also have a Nov 2011 titanium (X). It has a rear view cameras which displays on the screen. Also front & rear parking sensors fitted as standard which bleep when approaching an obstruction with increasing sound speed. The front ones can be turned off as annoying in traffic queues.

The 2012 MK2 uses the ABS sensors to deflation. The later MK2 uses internal pressure sensors.

The Mk1 Kugas came with a funnel which you inserted into the neck of the system. The funnel though is intended for use with jerry cans where the diameter of the jerry can spout doesn't match the neck of the system thus the system wouldn't open.

I've not heard of anyone using the funnel when using the standard petrol forecourt equipment as frankly there's no need to use it.

That's what I thought, only for an emergency, I've had 3 kugas and never had a problem filling up.

Hello
First posting as recently purchased Titanium x Sport and I was wondering if anyone could advise me if it is possible to fit mudflaps with the body kit.
As per the guidance to all KOC members on the forum home page:

I've moved this thread out of the Main Message Centre and into the far more relevant Mk2 sub forum.

With regards to the post itself IIRC there's not currently a set of flaps that fit the body kitted Kuga, perhaps a Kuga TXS owner will confirm this is still the case?

I can confirm that there is no mud flaps available for the Tit X Sport from Ford or any aftermarket companies.

My AWD Titanium X has just had its second service, mileage now 20600, and is 2 years old this month, and have to say I Still love it, great drive, comfy leather, nothing gone wrong, gives around 39 mpg with climate on all the time, and lots of short trips to school around my shift work. Recently had a new windscreen due to a stone cracking the original, but Autoglass fitted a Pilkington screen, taking care of my car covering my seats up well.   The fitter even checked the rain and light sensor before leaving, and checked the heated screen worked by turning on and monitoring the temperature of the glass.
Report from the garage says inner rear pads 60% worn so will check in the summer.
Rates Ford in Grays gave the car a nice wash too.   MOT next year!!! And as I swapped tyres front to rear last year   probably new tyres all round too, and maybe the brake pads to monitor. Great car. Goes like a rocket, and the AWD grips so well.

I notice the trend on a lot of images being posted of lifting the windscreen wiper.

I guess not a lot moves in that depth and you hope it goes away as quick as it came.

Thx I understand that, but think the 1st
gear ratio is very short, revs go right round to try and make it pull off
