Was going to ask what you are going for and then I noticed your signature ...

I was going to choose the exact one but managed to get a better deal by taking what was available.

I think the lease companies manage to get decent prices by selling from available stock. I could have ordered it but the deals were better on what was available now. Suits me better because my other lease ends soon.
Looking forward to it !!

Subject: DPF Sensor Issue - Which Sensor?

Hi Guys,

Newly joined the forum to be able to join in the chat. I've read through loads of the forum and the DPF issue thread since it's the problem I'm having with my Kuga only one month in, after purchasing it used in a private sale.

I have a 2009 2.0 tdci (AWD) Titanium. Recently I had these two fault codes come up P2463 which is the DPF being clogged I guess. The other code is P244B which says DPF differential pressure too high.

Now I've read that in some circumstances that the sensor is usually the problem. Now I'm confused which sensor it is. There is one sensor on the DPF (picture below) which I've been told is the exhaust gas temp sensor. And then there's this other one, which is black plastic and has two pipes coming off of it (picture below)....is this the one that needs replacing maybe?

Any help would be really appreciated so I can try and get the right part ordered. I'm thinking I need the black one, but can anyone tell me whereabouts it's located?

Thanks again for taking the time to read!

Hi

Checking in with my new 2016 model Trend 1.5 ecoboost auto FWD in frozen white.

It came with the sync 2 with 8" reverse camera.

Seems great at the moment.

Time will tell

Usually the problem is with the membrane in the lower black sensor.
You will find it attached to the engine side of the battery box.
When you know where to look, you can't miss it.

Thanks Tarmo for the reply. I've had a look and it was exactly where you said. Thank god it's easy to get to!

Does the fault code P244B usually correspond with a faulty DPF sensor (black one pictured above)?

I had reason to visit Hendy Ford in West Quay, Southampton. I asked whether they could service the haldex unit and to my surprise they said yes and for £120 for parts and labour.

I had reason to order a replacement locking nut key because the lock nuts were too tight (after a service by Hendys) when I went to change tyres to winters. The original lock nut key would not grip and neither did the new one for which I was not charged (good will). Slight narked by this, I went back to Hendys and they got their service guys to get the lock nuts off (and knackered them in the process) and replaced. Now I can get my winters mounted.
Good customer service, the way it should be.
On, and they'll also do a haldex oil and filter service for £120.

Hi,

I did not have a code on my touch screen satnav unit but bought the keys to pull the unit out of the dash, was just a few quid from eBay, took a photo of the sticker on the side.
bloke on eBay will give you your code for £1.00 if you give him the serial number. the advert shows you which one he needs, this ad says Ford Focus, but it was one like this I used.

Hi guys,

I have an OBDII reader with the switch but have lost the software (was in russian if I remember)
I did use it to switch on a few things that were left off the dashboard but wanted to switch on the autolock feature when you drive away. From memory when I tried it failed due to something being installed on the laptop wrong.  I was using windows 7 and I think there was a clash.

I have searched this forum but cant seem to find the link I was looking for and originally found on here.

I am also wondering if it has been modified since then as we are talking 2 years ago when I tried this.

If any one can help me or point me in the right direction I would be grateful.

thanks in advance.

Considering going down the snow foam route to minimise scratches to paintwork. I have the lance attachment but would welcome any advice on which ph snow foam members have tried with regard to what the cleaning results have been, good or bad

As per jumborat indicated select the info display and you will see which wheels are being driven continuously. You'll find AWD is active every-time you pull away from a standstill and when ever you accelerate hard (full throttle). There is nothing that will automatically indicate when AWD is active unless you have selected the relevant display in advance

Plea for help,please!
Yesterday went to my 2011 kuga titanium 163 mk1 only to find that the headlights, the car alarm and the door mirror lights would not work. The battery had been on charge overnight with a smart charger but on measuring the voltage it only read 12.1v although the car would start up -just!
Given the reading and also that I assume the battery was the original(I bought the car in 2012) I assumed a new battery was required and that the car was programmed to power down high using items.
I have bought a new battery today but am so disappointed that it has made no difference i.e the car will start but the headlights will not work(when you attempt to switch them on there is a click and the dash lights power to half strength), if you press the release button on the alarm fob the hazard lights flash slowly once - but if you press any of the other buttons on the fob nothing happens. In addition the "puddle" lights on the door mirrors still do not work.
I would welcome any views any member may have as to the problem, please

As mentioned above you'll see AWD drive as you pull away and usually in anything below 4 gear (manual) and if your in anything higher and AWD comes on its because you've got wheel spin on the front and you could be going too fast for the conditions anyway unless your off road.

Though I didnt have the info display up, boxing day 2014 showed that AWD was working on my Kuga as I drove moderately from South Yorkshire to Wakefield on back roads with hills in a depth of snow I know my old Mondeo would have got stuck in, because there were plenty of other cars struggling if not stopped along the journey. It just simply worked I guess, with winter tyres too. As far as I could tell I didnt encounter any wheel spin so the car must have maintained traction or it worked that well I didnt notice.

Looks like I'm not going to get chance to do it again this winter.

Oer thats a nasty one. Are we misunderstanding your sentence that you were actually charging the battery 'in situ' prior to this problem?

I'd suggest disconnecting the battery to reset things but you will have done that when changing battery.

Thanks for your prompt reply. Yes I had been charging the old battery in situ using a CTEK smart charger.
Do you think that is the problem.I have done so many times before have I just been lucky?

I have not taken the car on a run since changing the battery- I see that the Kuga car manual states on page 100 states that the engine may exhibit some "unusual characteristics" for some 5 miles before clearing itself and wonder if it may clear my problem - now that would be lucky!
