Mk2 Technical : Flashing dash bulb!!!

My fan speed dash light is flickering on and on as it feels! I'm pretty sure it will simply be a new bulb needed or a lose connection, however before I start ripping the dash apart does anyone know how to get to the bulbs? Is it simply a case of removing the gear stick gaitor and revealing a few screws? Or is it something far more complicated? Any help much appreciated!!!!

Im waiting for a Tit. X 150 TDCI 2WD. Appearance pack, Convenience pack, Tow bar/13 pin. Ruby Red paint £24,030 through Drive the Deal.co.uk. I tried all the dealers and Carwow and this was miles cheapest. The dealer will part X, although drive the deal says they don't. The actual dealer is the same one that quoted me through carwow at £1300 more!

Thanks.
Nope it's as it's supposed to be, tbh I did think the same when I first picked mine up.

That one bolt IS a nightmare. Also I only managed to get the pulley moved from under the car.
I went under the engine, and then managed to remove and reinstall the belt.

I wish that Ford would allow the gauge sweep .. for goodness sake it's already in the software lets have some additional options in the menu .. how hard can it be, and it would look soo cool. No I haven't found a way .... yet ...

Just be careful getting the headlight unit into the right position to locate correctly on the catch underneath - easy to force it and snap off the catch on the headlight ... if you line it up right it just clicks into place, if it doesn't click,  it's probably not quite back into position ... Smile

As per the following I moved this new thread out of the Main Message Centre into the more relevant Mk1 Technical sub forum:

Where the OP will find this particular thread discussing the rising number of instances of reported AWD malfunction along with advice on servicing the Haldex unit.

Mk2 Technical : Brake Failure

Whilst towing my caravan on a motorway in France, there was a sudden loud bang, shaking the car. I thought it was the car jumping out of cruise control, until I started to slow, going downhill and realised there was no response. the foot-brake was solid with no movement to it. I managed to get off the motorway, and when i eventually got the car checked some time later, (another story) it seems a pipe between the servo and the vacuum had come adrift and melted. on the repair back in England, the engineer said the pipe was only held in place with one clip where the new pipe had two fixings. It would be interesting to hear if anyone else has suffered this problem

When I saw your reply I thought yep that kinda makes sense but then I read this article earlier this afternoon which has more details and says the main vehicle (the one you'll see on TV coverage) will be the Mondeo Estate whilst Kugas, S Max's, Tourneo Customs and Transit Jumbo Vans will be used by the support team.

The first Ford vehicles will be used in a race on 28th Jan.

Perhaps they'll look to use the Edge later in the year or during more high profile races like the Giro, Tour De France, Vuelta etc.

quick update ....

After much faffing about trying to choose which model etc and getting best lease prices I finally settled on a Magnetic - Titanium X Sport 150 .......  None in stock anywhere and about and 8 week order time. They did have Magnetic last week when I checked.
They do have white, blue or black available now and they are the latest model. I could wait but my other lease is up soon anyway so I ordered the White one - Copying off Jimbee in the previous few posts.
They did have Magnetic Titanium Xs and most of the other models but I had already sold myself on the sport version.
Waiting for confirmation of delivery date but should only be a week or 2 - I hope.

Got the car back today after many calls (9)from the tec at fords while they had the car making sure what the girls had written were correct they went through each and everyone what had coursed it and what they had done to fix them. The main faults were the Cam/Crank sensors so new ones fitted ,also the gears selector adjusted so so smooth now as for the hesitation it was the sensors were the main culprit of most of it the car now it total different to drive and a pleasure. one tip I would pass on when the AA came out they cleared the fault on the ech so the Tec's had to take it for a 30 min drive for the fault to show it self so tell then not to.

I put up with the plastic cover being in the view. My windscreen mount is attached to the upper left corner of the black stuff on the screen and find that the cover doesn't get in way too much.

I will say that the cover in my current 2016MY Kuga is wider than what was in my previous 2015.25MY Kuga and as a result obstructs slightly more but still acceptable to me.

Indeed you are very correct and this does 'appear' to be a regular thing with the MK1 alternator. Mine was recovered last night and will be back on the road tomorrow. Ford want nothing to do with it, told me it's not common and they have never had any news of any issues so won't help.
If I had the time I would follow this up but I need this car to run children to school and make frequent visits to the hospital with my daughter. Sadly, seems I may have lost my trust in reliability and am already considering a change which will he hard because I love this car 😢

My thread regarding electrical issue is in the MK1 Technical forum if you wanted to read the ins and outs of what happened.
