I agree that we shouldn’t have to find a solution, but Ihave a germ of an idea.
The missus drives a Nissan Note, which has moveable rear seats.

If you want the legroom, the whole lot slides backwards by about six inches. The way Nissan overcome the gap between the parcel shelf and the seat is byhaving a piece of material that is permanently attached to the parcel shelf, and attaches with Velcro the rear of the seat upright, you can just catch sightof these three Velcro pieces in the last second or two of the video.
So how about some black leatherette, from the underside of the boot cover, going to the rear of the seat upright, this on mine is already carpeted andready to accept the hook part of the Velcro. This could be either the width tothe seat back when reclined or upright.
Tacky or tasteful, I’ll have a go and post some pictures.

Sounds good - I was thinking along similar lines with Velcro and useing black landscape fabric.
Still leaves the "Ford oversight!!" gap between the rear lip and the hatchback door but perhaps a length hanging down would work!!

Remember the Edge is Zetec, Titanium or Sport specification, only Titanium X Kugas have Xenons in the UK.
Kuga Zetec, Titanium & Titanium Sport models only have halogen lights.

After around 12,000 miles in my Titanium X 165bhp manual at around 37mpg it's suddenly decided to get much better Smile.
My dealer's service manager told me to expect an improvement at around 8k miles but mine seems to have waited a bit!!
The last 1000 miles has returned 40mpg - and I don't 'hang around'.......
Hopefully this will last for a long time!!
We also run a twin-air Panda Cross, and get about 38mpg from that, and a 5 litre TVR which returns around 26mpg so the Kuga is winning!!

Has anyone else noticed such an improvement at the 12k mark?

Happy New Year to you all.

Run to work with no traffic on Christmas Eve. Sure in the New Year the traffic will be back to terrible so these heady economy days will be over!!!

This morning the missus pressed in ingition button a warning message came up.......power steering failure.
Turned off the engine and then back on again and no message appeared and the car drove fine...
Any Idea why it did this..

The second issus was the missus got in the kuga to come home from work started the car put it in gear the alarm went off tried her seat belt and the alarm didnt stop.
She locked the passenger seat belt in and the alarm stopped..
Drove home stopped at the lights and unlocked the passenger seat belt and the alarm started again when she set off..

She pluged the passenger seat belt back in and the alarm stopped.

Then drove home with both seat belts plugged in.....

And ideas why its done this aswell..

I don't have my Kuga anymore but will be getting one in March or April next year....

On my Mk1 I got the power steering error once. It turned out that my front wheel was turned in against a kerb and when I pressed the power button the steering lock could not unlock and I got the power steering error.
I had to release the handbrake and push the car back a few inches to allow the steering lock to unlock.
The local dealer checked it out and said they couldn't find any fault it was just the front wheel was wedged against the kerb.
Regarding the other problem. Was it the car alarm or the seatbelt fasten alarm?  Did she have her bag on the seat? Mine goes off if I have my laptop on the passenger seat.

Hi everyone, a newbie here, and just love this forum.

I was wondering if anyone could tell me how I find out the BHP of my 2008 Kuga 2.0ltr TDCI please as I have seen 138 & 163 quoted.

All early Kuga's were 138 BHP (PS)

Later on (2010 ish) they changed it to 138 for 2WD and 163 for AWD (unless a Zetec then still 138)

Around 2012 this changed to 150 for 2WD and 180 for AWD (unless a Zetec then still 150)

Yours being a 2008 then it will be a 138.

Had an issue previously when Kuga wouldn't start when sat for 20 mins with engine off listening to radio. Then wouldn't start. The nut connecting battery positive was loose so thought that was problem. Tightened and jump started no issues since

Today had engine off for 20 mins with radio on and wouldn't start again. All connectors fine etc had to get jump started again

Just wondered what problem is? As surely battery shouldn't drain so quick
Anyone had any similar issues?? Or ideas

If when you get the car serviced the oil service light isn't on they'll often forget to reset the counter (doing the above procedure will reset the counter whether the warning light is on or not)

So it should solve the problem. Worth doing it when you change the oil yourself at 6000 interval.
