Nope.

That is why we shouldn't have let the Americans design the thing.

Pipercross filter turned up today, so got that fitted once I'd finished work..

Then re-fitted the airbox lid.  Also did some digging and the majority of parts are identical to the diesel Focus ST engine, so I'll be looking at a couple of upgrades from that - probably starting with the intake hose.

I also got a picture of my new badges, can't wait for them to turn up!

Actually this model line was designed more by Europeans than Americans. And it's not like the Brits and the Germans don't have their fair share of miserable service procedures on vehicles.

You can do this yourself.

The first step is to turn the steering wheel all the way in the opposite direction of the burnt out light bulb.
Turning the front wheels will create more working room in the wheel well.

Loosen the six screws along the outer edge of the black plastic wheel well liner or "splash guard" by turning them counterclockwise with the 7mm socket and 1/4" drive ratcheting wrench.

Set the screws aside in a safe place.

You may also want to pry out the black plastic pop rivet friction fastener located on the underside of the bumper cover.

Gently pull back the wheel well liner from the front quarter panel to access the rear of the light housing.

The Front Turn Signal light bulb socket is located closer to the inner edge of the housing just past the parking light.

Rotate the base of the turn signal light bulb socket 1/4 turn counterclockwise, pull the old bulb straight out of the socket and push in a new amber colored # 7440A or 7440NA.

Re-insert the turn signal bulb socket in to the housing and rotate it 1/4 turn clockwise to lock it in place.

Push the plastic wheel well liner back in to place.
If you removed the pop rivet from the underside of the bumper cover, gently push it back in to place.

Re-insert the six 7mm screws and tighten them in the clockwise direction until they are snug.

And I know Morph will need pictures so here you go mate.

Sould be a straight swap.

Did notice that Morph, I'm going to have a look as I may have the bits lying around from my old ST.

You might need to have bluetooth active on the phone/tablet before plugging the OBD reader in.
Then it might take a while for the OBD to sort out it's bluetooth transmit
Then do a scan for active BT devices ...

I used a different OBD reader, and it was a bit hit and miss to get it to talk properly with the phone to start with . once done it was fine ...

my notes when I had the device (I did get a bit hooked on the customisable dashboards using the dashcommand app from Palmer Performance)

As regards expectations of an owner or even dealer having to do it anyway, according to Ford Customer Services mine is the first Kuga EVER in Switzerland to need one replacing. That was the pathetic excuse they offered for the garage not knowing what to do! The butchering of the parts is down to incompetence.

One of the problems we have here, around Geneva at least, is that dealers are not sole manufacturer dealers. For example, the one I use (with a couple of locations) is Ford and Peugeot with the focus very much on Peugeot, both for sales and servicing. Expertise on Ford just doesn't seem to be there.

Yes, when the manual says "non-serviceable" they mean that the task is too difficult for the owner. Funny thing is the Ford techs are woefully incompetent. So I have learned to do quite a bit on my own.

Sorry for the late reply, I not on here that much but will try to look in more often in future.

Yes, you can get a hoist fitted in the back of a Kuga. It's one of the things that the company I work for does!

The hoist is fitted to one side and the back seats can be left up, but it depends on the size of your scooter as to whether you'd need to drop the seats to fit the scooter in.

Price wise they start at about £800 going up to about £2500 for the top of the range - these prices are from memory so don't quote me!

One point that is not widely known - if you order the hoist at same time as ordering your new car through Motability then Motability may make a contribution towards the cost of the hoist.

Hope this info helps and if you need any just ask.

Thanks for that RacingSteve.I was asking as I need to install a hoist in my current Motorbility car as my wife and I can no longer lift my scooter into the boot of my Kuga.I made enquireries at a Mobility company near me who said the boot is too small without dropping the seats.I have since spoken to Motorbility who let me cancel my contract and order a new car with a larger boot, which I have done and asked for an Olympian 100kg hoist to be installed.I then happened to read somewhere that someone had had a hoist fitted in their Kuga and have a scooter similar to mine.Confused to say the least.

You definitely can get a hoist fitted and fit a scooter in without dropping the seats, but as I said it depends on the size of the scooter.

The hoist will have a swivel thingy on it so the scooter can be turned to fit in across the boot rather than lengthways, if you see what I mean.

Unfortunately many fitters don't do enough hoists to know all the fine details.

The Olympian is a very good hoist, just make sure that when it lifts your scooter that it lifts it level. The company fitting it will make a bracket to fit on your scooter and it must lift level.
They should also set it not to lift to high, that is it must not catch the top of the boot opening when turning into the car.

Anyway glad to hear that you have sorted things out.

If you mean the side bits by the window I've no idea, but the guide on the shelf itself on the end (like an end cap) can be replaced on its own. It has a screw in the underside.

Spoke to the Ford body shop, they've found the problem, the new roof isn't fitted properly (what a surprise) and is getting covered in condensation Angry

They're waiting to hear back from Motability who have passed the estimate on to Nationwide to pay for it.  So, good news is it may be finally getting sorted, bad new it's another replacement roof and won't be here until some time in January Cry

Escapism

Many thanks for the weblink with the pictures.
One minor difference with the US to the European models without the Xenon lights is that they run a separate parking light to the direction indicator so the lower spec EU cars have 3 bulbs in the lower light unit.
