Dear All
Sorry to post a bad news story as a newbie, however I am getting a little frustrated with my Kuga.
I have a 2013 Kuga 2.0 MK2 Zetec (4 wheel drive version), which has had the "Engine Service" warning light issues with the limp home mode activating ove the past year. This has occurred on at least seven different times, including once on an overtake which was quite interesting! AA were called on several of the occassions, and like others, no record of any fault could be found when the ECU was checked.
However, week before last, my Kuga went one better and refused to start or even recognise either key until I placed them in the steering wheel slot. The engine then started, however after 20 seconds or so, all dashboard lights, speedo, rev counter, display, electric window controls etc stopped working. Local Ford dealer initially said it was a component error with the dashboard display, however after a couple of days, they then called to say the fault had been fixed, as Ford had recommended the software was "reloaded". No new parts were fitted and the car was returned.
All appeared OK until last Friday when the same fault suddenly appeared that morning. Dashboard was blank, car refusing to start without the key in the slot, central locking not working, no electric windows etc. When the AA guys attended, the dashboard then decided as it was nearly Christmas, every warning light appeared and stayed on (although the speedo and rev counter were not working), and I had a variety of warning messages appear including "engine service", "hill start failure" etc. I had expected "merry xmas" at one point.
Now the car is back in the garage and I suspect the fault is a bit more major than a "software reload"! Has anyone had a similar failure with their Kuga?
