Hello
Thanks for your quick reply. The juddering only occurs when pulling away from rest during the initial clutch take up stage, ie: before the clutch pedal has been completely released. Feels as if the whole engine, gearbox and exhaust are juddering which cannot be good.

I looked at it! £250 quid, I had mine looked at by my local garage who bought in a specialist! DPF was clean as a whistle so I would have wasted my money! Mine needed a new sensor. He completed a software update and a smoke test for similar money! Car is now good as new! Expensive before XMAS but hey ho!! The beast is back!

Are you gas or diesel? What transmission do you have? Here in the US much has been discussed about the fluid. Our Escapes 2013+ use Mercon LV. It expands when warmed up, which is why the fluid needs to be checked at operating temps. Also, many folks have reported incorrect fluid levels from the factory, so have yours checked.

Ok cheers for that, its a manual diesel. I'll get the local garage to check the level.

Oh, no manual diesels sold here in the US. So no automatic transmission fluid. Best of luck in your findings.

Got an update on my Titanium X Sport today, ordered in the second week of October, original delivery date 5th December, now the 2nd February.

Just hope my current car lasts long enough, because the gearbox is on its way out.......

The lease company even asked if I wanted to change my order for something else today.....

Yep just press the button (clutch too on manual), you may find that when its cold it wont even try to turn over until the its warmed the heaters up anyway, thats what I've found, usually a second or so. In summer press the button its starts immediately.

Hi Psshaw
thanks for the reply.
I am waiting on the 180.I think it will be the 2016 build but who knows?? Interesting to hear that you could start the car without pressing on the brake pedal. My car will be powershift. I assumed you would have to depress the brake pedal in order for the car to start.
thanks for your help

Hi KF,thanks for the reply. When you say "suck it and see' do you mean the starter button or the Brake pedal???? Only kidding....
So you must press the brake pedal and then press the starter?
thanks again

Really, try it.

The tow ball needs to be clean dry and free of oil and grease so do the pads in the stabiliser you will more than likely need to replace stabiliser pads with new .
Greasing or lubricating removable towbar will result in the grease turning to grinding paste with the addition of dust making the play worse if in dowt take the car and caravan to caravan dealer for advice g

I did not recommend greasing the tow bar ball so i cant se why you quote my suggestionWink

Water dos not harm the stabiliser pads. The pads and the towball also gets wet in rainy weather Wink

Went to see it last night.  Makes the wait until Monday evening worse, but I will miss the Xenons on the Focus, have some Osram Nightbreakers to fit once I get it home in the light so hopefully it won't be too much of a downgrade.

I said you would more than likely need to replace the stabiliser pads ! Noisy stabiliser is usually caused by contamination sorry I wasn't clearer if your going to use it for a large amount of towing be safe rather than sorry g
