Hi guys,

Are there no Kuga owners out there in London who would like to take part? These events are alot of fun, they pay cash and you'll get to meet other Kuga owners Smile

Hi HK, is your Zetec S, diesel by any chance? I'm sure I had that car for a day a few months ago when my Kuga was in for some warranty checks. At the time, it was Sue's car who works in Motability at E.H. Hull. Brilliant car it was, and certainly looks to business in Zetec S trimmed that colour. Enjoy.Thumbs Up

You could always change the venue and come up to Hull - at least you'd be in God's own county....Wink

The EGR removal was just the software(120EUR) because the valve is electrical. Normally closed. I did not remove the EGR system from the car.
The DPF was only internally removed and programmed out. Straight pipe would have been over 500EUR, but just the internals and reprogram was 240EUR.
However if you do them at the same time in the same place you should get away with cheaper prices.
I just recommend you take your car to a well known place.

Hi everyone.

Does anyone know if the full leather seats are a straight swap for the standard zetec seats in the 2013 model.

Has anyone went to the hassle of changing he seats?

Thanks

Try splashing the towball with water to stop the noise. The problem is that the towball is to dry.

Really, try it.

Just a reminder that Tarmo is from Estonia where it sounds like they could have different rules and legislation to the UK.

According to the following links removal of the DPF on a vehicle where the DPF was fitted as standard is now an MOT failure in the UK:

I've mentioned this just in case anyone considering having it done wasn't aware of the possible pitfalls.

Looks like I am one of many receiving an X Sport this month.  My Shadow Black beast arrived today but with a different radio from the brochure/owner's manual - I'm assuming it's some part of the SYNC 2 but no photo of it. The car looks good but should be interesting how it compares to the X Trail I've had for the last four years.

According to the Sept 15 brochure the full leather seats come with

Variable heated front seats
10 way power assisted drivers seat with 6 way manual passenger seat

So as Tony says you would think the fixing points might be the same but if you want the full usability of the seats it will depend if the electrics for the heating aspect and the power adjustment of the drivers seat are in place on a Zetec.

On the Mk 1 Zetec they had the wiring in place for the footwell lights that were standard only on the Titanium so you might strike lucky if they've done something similar on the Mk2.

The tow ball needs to be clean dry and free of oil and grease so do the pads in the stabiliser you will more than likely need to replace stabiliser pads with new .
Greasing or lubricating removable towbar will result in the grease turning to grinding paste with the addition of dust making the play worse if in dowt take the car and caravan to caravan dealer for advice g

Well after a 50mile blast at 70 in 5th and 2750rpm, the whine is still there, so I'm ruling out DPF issue.
Alternator, all lights work as normal, no 'pulsing' of lights as I rev it etc, everything just seems........normal!?
But as you say I may pop down to get charging system tested tomorrow.

Well I noticed that the whine pitch changed with engine revs. So logically I determined that the whine must be coming from some component within the belt system.
One thing I suspected was the alternator.
All was fine even with the whining sound. But suddenly I had no power steering, hazard lights and also the cabin temperature unit was flickering on and off.
Then I checked the charging...18V!!!
Definitely check charging. As there has been numerous issues with faulty alternators and fires and so on, I just let the car wait for a new alternator.
After replacing, no issues remain.

Mk1 Technical : Clutch Juddering

Hopefully someone can help me with this please as I cannot find any reference to it elsewhere in the forum pages.
I have a 2010 2WD Kuga which I love, however occasionally when pulling away from rest in 1st gear the whole transmission judders when releasing the clutch.  Most of the time everything is fine however, but just as I think it has cured itself it comes back again.  It also only appears to happen from cold before the car has warmed up!
I do not believe it to be the clutch plate (no actual slipping) and was wondering if there is a switch or similar on/near the clutch pedal which might be sticking?
Any help or advice would be very grateful.

Does it happen around the 10-15mph mark?

If it does then there's every chance it'll be the 9th one down this list, ie the ABS testing:
