So.....turns out it was a broken master cylinder. Had to get it replaced. Seat belt warning still switching on and off randomly. Really very irritating on long drives 😡. Asked mechanic to look at it but of course it didn't do it when with him lol

Let's just say I know someone with an X1 and I personally would choose the Kuga every time. Higher driving position , better interior. The only thing I would say is that the X1 appears to be more economical although it is a slightly smaller car. When I was in the tyre garage a BMW driver had a look at our car and was amazed by the quality.

Doesn't anyone have any advice on how to remove the intake manifold from the engine?
And those quick-connects, how do they open?

Briefly had a mk 2 with 18's , now have a mk 2 with 19's , to be honest I can't say I notice a massive amount of difference to be fair , and I wouldn't go down to 17's , in my opinion they don't suit the size of the car .....

I've got 18 inch with Continental Conti Sport SUV tyres. The ride is smooth, quiet and you hardly notice potholes. I've also found on a trip over the Brecons in snow that the grip in adverse conditions was surprisingly good and got through several difficult areas where many other vehicles were getting stuck through lack of traction.

you have pm.

I can't say I've had a repeat of the issue, but that maybe an 'out of sight, out of mind' attitude at the moment, life is a tad busy. but no visual issues inside the car, not musty smell, no steaming windows etc.  and that includes throughout last winter (wettest winter for 200 years round here).

17" Wheels were the standard fit option on everything except the Individual Pack, many, many people ticked the 18" and 19" Option box when they ordered the cars though.

Ford made the wheel and tyre options very clear in the original Brochures, 17" were recommended for comfort and ride quality, 18" were offered for a Sporty Feel and it was made very clear that the 19" were the ultimate style option but WILL affect ride quality.  Like I say, that was in Ford's Official Brochures for Kugas.

I have 17"s on mine from new and have been very happy, nice deep side wall gives a great ride, I have however had a beady eye on some 19"s on ebay if they ever come up at the right price!!!

I had something VERY similar to the ClimAir ones in my previous car ('08 Suzuki Grand Vitara) They were Genuine Suzuki ones, probably made by a company like ClimAir I guess.

In my opinion, I thought they were an excellent solution instead of tinting.  As has been said, they fit exceptionally well, from the outside they really don't look like what they are, inside, they blend ok with the interior, not much fun looking out of them if you are a passenger, in some respects I would say that they are more effective at shielding the sunlight than tinted windows.

I have searched the Maintenance Manual found here, inside and out.
But unfortunately there is little info on the 2l Duratorq engine. And the 2.5l is totally different.
And google is also not helping much.
I have found out that the 2l DuraTorq engine should be a Peugeot engine. But this needs to be clarified.

Slightly wrong info above.

Mk2:
17's standard on Zetec and Titanium (Fitted with M+S tyres)18's and 19's were an option
18's standard on Titanium X Different style 18's and 19's were an option
19's fitted as standard on Titanium X Sport.

Just noticed today that on the 'radio' display panel, where I used to get a Battery and Signal Strength symbol when my phone is connected, today it is showing a nice oval blue coloured Blutooth symbol.

Don't know why, nothing has changed, no settings altered on phone or car etc.

Anyone else had this or is able to offer a possible explanation?

Out of interest, my 'Ice Warning' symbol stays orange, doesnt turn red and was down to -3 deg this morning
