Keith, could you turn the steering wheel at all when it failed, I take it you could as you managed to place the caravan.

I hear what your saying from the dealer that the PAS module (Power Assisted Steering) caused the damage, but the design of PAS should be such that the PAS module failure should not prevent manual operation but requires much more effort of course and it certainly should cause total failure. If the dealer is not correct he may be saying things he shouldnt and if he is correct then there is a serious design flaw.

Hi fillco i could just about turn the steering but i have arthritus so the amount i could turn it was a lot less than the RAC guy could, he managed to drive around the camp site ( about 500 yards ) 2 corners to see how bad it was but i would not have been able to do that i only drove straight for about 100 yards

Hi Nigel,
Having read a lot about this car and fords a read that this is the first car fords have produced that will be built with the same parts and it the same way all over the world , its to try and make car manufacturing a standard system and thus cheaper, and better for parts no matter were you are in the world.

Ah I see. Sounds odd that they are changingthe whole steering rack and column when the RAC guy managed to steer it withoutPAS, and maybe it’s only the module that failed. From what you say youcertainly would have noticed any deterioration in PAS steering effect whendriving which makes me think it’s simply a failed module.

We make PAS power units and modules for commercialHybrid vehicles and buses and they are designed to give a warning of any mechanicalsteering malfunction as well as the modules themselves so the driver has achance to safely pull over, but no matter what, our PAS module has to run todestruction (at £1700 each) if need be to maintain steering. We’ve not replacedany yet. The vehicle can still be driven without PAS but needs a bit more effortto turn the wheel as you’d expect.

Its a shame about your inconvenience though.

I am looking for a bracket to fit Tom Tom satnav to Mk2 as air vent louvres being vertical do not allow fitment of claw fitting I used on Ml 1. (Admittedly even then I had to modify Tom Tom fittings to achieve correct angle as louvres were at shallow angle)
I see that Proclip do one to fit on lower edge of Mk 2 dash but silly money on line anyway. Any ideas?
Also looking for protector to add to rear door cills where grandchildren climb out of car and leave scratches in paint!?

what I done, bought items off ebay 121358451841/330310292042.Take the rubber pad off the dash shelf the one where the screen is, easy to take off just pushed in round the sides.Cut a hole in the rubber pad the same size as the Dashboard Adhesive Mounting, cut the hole to match the flat plastic shelf the one which the rubber sits on.Put the rubber pad back on the shelf, then take the dashboard mounting and put it in the hole you can now use the suction holder.Nice neat job takes about 10mins at most.

Thanks for all your comments Guy,s. We all have different tastes that is why there are so many colours to choose from. Not all the colours do it for all of us but the colour we choose we hope is the one for us. On that note we have after great thought choose Ginger Ale, part of the reason for this is we looked at our first Kuga in the showroom and it was Ginger Ale,the other part is we have not seen one on the road in KENT.

Pete.

From its position it could be air conditioning drain particularly if its so warm and humid so nothing to be concerned about.

Hi All,

You will have noticed that I haven't posted any thing in the last 9 months.
That is because I haven't had a Kuga for the past 9 months.

Things got pretty bad in work with me last year and with my job at risk, my Kuga had to go and was replaced with a Fiesta Zetec. It's nearly killed me.

However with my job now declared safe and to remain safe for the foreseeable future, I have recently ordered a new Kuga! I honestly cannot wait to get back behind the wheel of a Kuga.
The Fiesta has been a fun little car but after driving the Kuga it did feel as if my bum was dragging on the floor wherever i drove it!

Enough blab!

Here's my new one!
Titanium, 140ps.

Aha, via the awsome power of google it's fixed, apparently it's the microsh*te sync software getting it's knickers in a twist (who'd of thought Shocked ) Pulling fuse 67 (7.5A) in the passenger footwell fuse box for 10 seconds causes the system to reset, and hey presto, 'tis all working again, streaming audio once more Smile

Hi

I have a Tit X Kuga with Convenience pack and folding mirrors. I also use the Pyramid rock steady mirrors attached to the bottom of the car mirrors (as I used to do on my Mondeo), but find that when I lock the doors the plastic screws on the Pyramid mirrors hit the paintwork. I have tried moving the clamps around without success and find that attaching the clamps to the top of the mirror housing pushes my mirror glass down and I get a great view of my back tyres!

I've read through the manual but can't see a way of turning the folding mirrors off when towing. Anyone else come across this?

Thanks
Dave

Best car wash is a hand wash by yourself. Two buckets and towel dry, get every where you want to get to i.e. wheel, arches, inside alloys, tailpipes, door shuts etc. More satisfying than wondering what car went through the car wash before yours and inflicting scratches and swirls.

Apologies if this has been covered elsewhere, but here goes. As discussed when ordering my TIT X it was confirmed that it has led drl's, and led rear technology. I know it has bi-xenon headlights but could anyone confirm or even post a new one "lit up" so to speak.... Please? Went through hell with present car after promised"white" lights and led all round (merc) given full tank of fuel as compromise...when it arrived with ord dull lights

Indeed it has been covered hence moving your post into this thread.

Pics of the Titanium X and Standard Titanium DLRs and the difference between them can be found on page 1 of this thread.
