Author: Raymondo111Subject: Wheel alignment flagged up during first service

Kuga is in today for it's first service although it has only done 3950 miles, had a phone call to say that they had picked up a problem with rear wheel alignment and if I wanted it corrected it would cost £40.00, when I asked shouldn't this be done under warranty the answer was 'we only do adjustments in the first 3 months and then it's chargeable' My reply was but the car has only done 3950 miles and had I known there was a problem I would have brought the car in sooner?
My next thought was to check the service requirements on ETIS and the only thing listed is to check the tyres, nothing about wheel alignment?
Is this another example of upselling I wonder? I have heard all about the brake fluid changes and wear on discs etc but this is a new one on me.
The car runs perfectly and as far as I am aware doesn't have any undue wear on the rear tyres but as I say I am not happy that if it was a problem from new surely there shouldn't be a charge given the low mileage covered and the car is still in warranty until 18th May 2014?
This Kuga has been plagued with various rattles since new which the dealership couldn't find and it's only now the weather is warming up that the rattles are not so bad but still there maybe pointing to less than ideal tolerances etc.
I may be selling the Kuga in the next few months as I need something a bit smaller as we will probably come down to 1 car instead of 2 as DW is not keen on driving the Kuga as she thinks it's too big and I think her Fiesta is too small so we may have to compromise.
