Had exactly the same problem with ours, took it into the dealer's bodyshop and they did some adjustments with the hinges and said it was better.

To be honest, I still don't think the shut lines are great but apparently the bodyshop can't adjust the hinges anymore, so we'll just have to live with it Unhappy

Kuga is in today for it's first service although it has only done 3950 miles, had a phone call to say that they had picked up a problem with rear wheel alignment and if I wanted it corrected it would cost £40.00, when I asked shouldn't this be done under warranty the answer was 'we  only do adjustments in the first 3 months and then it's chargeable' My reply was but the car has only done 3950 miles and had I known there was a problem I would have brought the car in sooner?

My next thought was to check the service requirements on ETIS and the only thing listed is to check the tyres, nothing about wheel alignment?

Is this another example of upselling I wonder? I have heard all about the brake fluid changes and wear on discs etc but this is a new one on me.

The car runs perfectly and as far as I am aware doesn't have any undue wear on the rear tyres but as I say I am not happy that if it was a problem from new surely there shouldn't be a charge given the low mileage covered and the car is still in warranty until 18th May 2014?

This Kuga has been plagued with various rattles since new which the dealership couldn't find and it's only now the weather is warming up that the rattles are not so bad but still there maybe pointing to less than ideal tolerances etc.

I may be selling the Kuga in the next few months as I need something a bit smaller as we will probably come down to 1 car instead of 2 as DW is not keen on driving the Kuga as she thinks it's too big and I think her Fiesta is too small so we may have to compromise.

Typical lack of common sense isn’t it, itwould be clear if the wheels had shown wear due to misalignment in such a shorttime, but I guess time is on their side but evidence should be visible on the rearwheels surely unless you just recently hit something.

I believe someone on here had an issue withthe tailgate of a new car being slightly out of alignment just outside the 3months and they were told the same that they had to pay. I’d be asking thequestion if its out of alignment after only 3 months or even a year whether itsonly just been noticed or not, what wasn’t tightened up correctly to start withfor it to become out of alignment. And if its out of alignment because its strained, then its not strong enough.

Just looked at the paperwork that was given to me by the delivery driver, test was a Hunter alignment check which shows the rear toe out of alignment. Both are identical which suggests to me that it was set up wrong from new, if I had hit a kerb on either side it would show differences. Incidentally, the print out shows Kuga 2013.25 All Wheel Drive but my car is just 2 wheel drive and I seem to remember that the toe in settings would be different for AWD versus 2WD but I may be wrong. Any experts out there care to comment?

The issue seems to be quite common.

On the face of it that makes sense but there is a reason for not sharing it in the public domain. Thanks

Kuga was in for a service this and one of the recommendations on the service paperwork was a 'Power Control Module Upgrade'.

I phoned the dealer to enquire further and was told that this is a Ford released product that should improve performance and economy.

The cost for the installation, which takes about an hour I'm told, is £60.00.

Anyone either heard of this or had it done to their Kuga?

Cheers.

Andy

It is a general update on the engine software. We had it on our 59 Kuga when we complained about flat spots. It was done free a few years back when the car was under warranty at the time.
This update has been discussed elsewhere on this forum. I cannot find at the mo.

Hi Thanks for your reply. I have had my Kuga to various ford garages who could not identify the problem only charged me £50 to link up to the computer without identifying any problem. I have had filters changed only used BP Premium Diesel and put additives in still the problem existed. Two days ago I had it into Arnold Clark who did a "Pilot Learning Reset" to enable the car to learn to do things again. I am not technically minded so it is all above me, however, it may have done the trick as yesterday when I had the car out it seemed to be ok.

It is annoying when it happened but hopefully it may be sorted. Good luck if you manage to get yours sorted let me know what happens just in case mine happens again.

Thanks

It should not be chargable as if the software had been right in the first place it wouldn't need updating.

I've got a mk2 and yes it don't use the haldex system for the transmission.
It's a very nice looking car.
Think someone at Ford was taking the pee at first with the name (was a member of the Ford Cougar owners club before joining this club) the previous cougar coupe was named after the native American mountain lion or cougar. As for this new one, one can only guess they wanted to keep along the lines of the Ford Ka?

Thanks for your help, had this warning for 2 days then I got 'battery in key fob low'!
I changed to spare fob and it's working fine, need a 2032 battery for the 'spare' now.
The car seems to be smoother now or is that my imagination???

Interesting Phil about the diligence with regard to your area of business.

I too have tried different brands of fuel and found no difference in fuel consumption.

Mine appears to be worse than others as I am only getting 34mpg on 2.0 TDCi DPF, 163 Euro5, Diesel CRD, Titanium X, Powershift Auto, AWD. I have only done a total of 2300 miles so expect an improvement.
