Is it cranking slowly you need to conect a volt meter to batterie check voltage engine off
should be around 13 volts start engine should almost imiededatly rise to around 14 -14.5 volts do the same with engine hot there is an element of smart charge where the alternator
mostly charges on the over run or when braking but should react as stated when stationary

Do you not think our service book tells another story?

AFAIK the PDI is just a check to ensure that all levels are ok etc, Ford used to offer a check at 1500 miles but I think this was discontinued some time ago but in no way was this a 'first service' The first service is due at 12500 miles or 12 months whichever is the soonest, thereafter services are at 12 months or 12500 increments.

Hi all,

First post to this forum, hoping someone will be able to help me (Also hope I've posted this in the right section too).

I have a 65 plate Kuga Titanium Sport with 8" Sync2 Nav, when I first got the car a few months back I was able to see live traffic incidents and the sat nav would show these on the screen and re-route me if needed.

All of a sudden it wont find any incidents at all, I've tried a master re-set and also looked through the setting in case its something I've done but can't figure out what's happened.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you in advance

Edd

Exactly, that's why it's called the first service, bit of a clue in the title really. If not we all better start ringing round our local dealers to tell them that the service at one year or 12500 miles should now be resold as the 2nd service, and the 2nd service now the 3rd service. Don't think they will though !!!

Easy. The wind screen. I get most of my info through that.

Sorry, I'll get my coat...

Seriously, I have the digital speed screen on a lot of the time. It will come in handy next week when I'm back in the UK as my speedo only reads in KPH. Otherwise, it's either the main trip computer screen or the traction display.

Update.

The split-second flash of the oil symbol is normal apparently, as the system checks the oil pressure ("if necesary" said the garage to my question as to why it didn't happen every time it stops/starts.

The headlights do adjust, but not in auto mode. I sewar I did try them in manual mode but maybe I was too close to the wall to see the effect, which isn't as pronounced as in that Focus video. In left-hand drive mode, the pattern is very flat. Switch to right-hand and the right light kicks up while the left one goes down.

If the digital speed readout was accurate it would be handy (64km/h on the readout seems to be what I need to be doing to be at a true 60km/h.)

The AWD display is interesting to monitor, but I usually have the screen up that gives the multiple readouts for fuel consumption etc.

I have the digital readout on, its accurate to the clock speedo, but they both read under the true MPH, which is a good thing I think.

Yes about 3-4 mph fast, I tend to drive at true speed.

Good morning...Can anybody help!! I have just retracted the Sunvisor on the roof and the rear half section has lost "springage"...and will not retract. I am guessing that the return spring mechanism has failed/broken as i heard a "recoil" sound as i tried to operate.

I suppose this means removing the headlining and seeing if it can be repaired/rewound? Has anybody had this problem, and if so, offer any advice?

Same for me, the digital speedo is on 99% of the time. It's accurate with the clock needle.

I'm the same as you Phil, I drive at true speed. Going by satnav and those roadside speed alerts that pop up in different locations I tend to drive at an indicated 33/42/53/63/73mph. Doing 33mph tends to be between a true 30mph & 31mph.

The roadside speed alerts are a good reminder. I don't have the digital speed indication up though and prefer the 4 status display, but use cruise set to true speed (like you 0 or + 1) where I can and when I know enforcements are present. Seems to work for me.

Have you tried resetting your average speed and then viewing it real time while maintaining a constant speed?

Radio switches on without ignition/accessory on, stays on for an hour if not turned off or ignition activated

Yes if I pass a roadside speed alert at 30 on my readout the alert is flashing 28mph.
