I too have just moved from Qashqai to Kuga, literally I only got it yesterday.
I had the 1.5 DCi which copes surprisingly well in such a heavy car, however the 2.0 TDCi in the Kuga is so much more powerful and smooth.
Yes, the Qashqai has more kit on it but it also has it's faults, my rear parking sensors used to play up, the blind spot monitoring used to alert me to phantom cars and I had fish eye vision from the passenger door mirror camera because it had water in it.
I have had 2 Qashqai's, the first one I had was the Mk1 which had the Bose sound system in it, the second one was a 2014 model and for some reason Nissan had dropped the Bose system. I must say the Sony in the Kuga is much better than the Qashqai, apart from the fact it keeps defaulting to the radio every time I start the engine instead of USB.
I had a lot of wind noise from the Qashqai, couldn't find exactly where it was coming from, but it was annoying. The Kuga is much quieter on the road. I had lost a couple of things which I really liked from the Qashqai which were the electric handbrake, electric folding mirrors and keyless entry but at the same time I have got a better sound system, opening panoramic roof and electric tailgate that I used to have on the C4 Picasso I had before the Qashqai. I think there is a lot of penny-pinching with the Nissan which lets it down a great car, for example the fact that they fit LED headlights & taillights but regular indicators. Also, the front indicators are so hard to see in daylight because they are positioned very close to the DRL which don't dim or turn off like most other manufacturers do.
Overall I am really happy with the Kuga, it feels much better put together and feels more solid.
