Given the lowered and stiffened suspension anyway on the ST-Line I will be interested to hear what you think of the ride comfort once you drive a few miles.

I'm coming from a 255/30 R19 fitted on an M-Sport BMW convertible.  I'll let you know  LOL

I never had a 19" set of alloys on any car, so i kindly ask, as i put summer tyre on those, wouldnt noise level be less noisy, and if i compare to a 17" with summer tyre, will the noise be different?
I know the ride will be, but noise is important in a Kuga too :)

edit: I know there is a rating of noise, but i guess the size might make that noise different, so people with experience might know.

I've never run Winter tyres so I don't know how they rate noise wise compared to regular tyres.  My BMW was very quiet but I would imagines the noise deadening is a lot more substantial in a 'premium' brand.  Originally my car came with run-flats, they were awful - hard sidewalls and they used to tramline on bad surfaces.  I changed to regular tyres and the difference was night & day.

I'm afraid there is no "plug and play" option using the connectors.

As far as I know there are only 2 options to resolve the flash rate problem, adding load resistors or replacing the existing flasher relay with a LED flasher relay.

I had the same problem as you of the indicators flashing strangely when I originally put the LED bulbs in, that is why I've added the load resistors. I've not had any issues with the flash rate since.

I'm not having any luck posting the pictures I took last night, but if would like I could email them to you if you forward your email by PM.

I don't think there is a "flasher relay"in modern vehicles. The Body Control Module takes care of that side of things. I get the feeling the circuitry inside is set up to check the current drawn by the bulbs, if it's too low then the BCM figures the bulb must be blown and gives you the annoying faster flash to draw your attention to it. So it simulates the old style flasher can operation with a low load.

(That's my theory anyway, I wasn't expecting a modern electronic BCM to cause hyper flashing....)

You are correct. The BCM replicates the flasher relay in more modern cars.

I was just highlighting the only ways I know of compensating for the lack of electrical load on indicators when installing LED indicators.

I believe the LED flasher relay is the method used on tow bar installations to compensate for LED trailer lights, where the LED flasher relay is installed with all the other tow bar electrics.

Thanks for all your advice. I took it back to the garage and they said it needed a repair to something to do with the timing for which i would have to pay. Its still working hard through the gears and another issue has since arisen. I'm no longer driving it. I suspect that repeated poor workmanship has done damage. I'm getting an independent report done on it now. Interestingly the engineer i spoke to when booking this also pointed out about gear box oil. Until it was mentioned in the post above this had not been mentioned. Im not sure what to expect as a response from the garage but have to do something.
Thanks again for your replies.

Do not give that garage any more money!

Take an hour to write down EVERYTHING that has been done, what the problems are and who you spoke to.
Keep all receipts.

This could well end up in the small claims court, so you will need every scr*p of evidence you can muster.
Hopefully the independent report will point towards the garages failings!
Good luck!

I can't comment on the facelift Kuga but my 2016 Mk2 Titanium X Sport has the panoramic glass roof and the ambient lighting. Find it hard to believe that the facelift model can't have sunroof and ambient lighting as well.

On the subject of MPG I am disappointed with ALL the motor manufacturers who really could of done a lot more over the years in terms of developing petrol vehicle engines that return similar diesel mpg's I accept the apparent loss of engine torque with petrol but as a result of their inactivity in petrol engine technology development this leaves us all at the mercy of the chancellor of the exchequer who will be rubbing his hands at the prospect of raising the CO2 emissions based VED (vehicle excise duty} in next weeks budget, and an additional rise in diesel duty would not surprise me one bit, I repeat I strongly believe that the present situation is down to motor manufacturers inactivity in terms of petrol engine development, I think most diesel vehicle owners don't think about emissions and the environment they purchase a diesel and not petrol cars because 25/30 mpg against 40/45mpg makes economic sense. I repeat manufacturers could have done a lot more to make petrol vehicles more desirable better Mpg for example however to draw us all in they have taken the easy option which is to produce vehicles crammed with technology, it's just an opinion . . . so what say you?

I say we were persuaded to purchase diesel vehicles by the government (lower tax, cheaper fuel) and the motor manufacturers responded accordingly. I find the current range of turbo charged petrols disappointing in power, performance and real world fuel economy whereas diesels have improved significantly

1.5 Ecoboost Titanium X Sport manual here.

Just done 3000 miles on the clock. Average has been 35.2mpg in mixed driving.

Im happy enough with that. OK its no fireball, but on todays roads, its plenty quick enough and really smooth and quiet.

I deliberately avoided a diesel because most of my driving is short distances. I also avoided the auto as it robs the car of torque and it doesn't have that much to give away!!!!

Its not that long ago we were being told to buy diesels by the powers that be, now its petrol and eventually it will be electric. Fact is, diesel cars are far more environmentaly friendly than HGVs and buses ( weve all seen what they chuck out) but its the motorist who takes the flak, Try standing in bus station for 10 mins, its shocking. As far as manufacturers are concerned they are producing "ecoboost" engines which are smaller but mpg is still poor from petrol driven cars compared to diesel

I bet you are. No chance of a repair then as the fact it didnt show signes of life suggests an internal power poroblem, but labour would probably be costly. Did they keep the unit?
