The bulb type has most likely not been changed. So you might find some relevant info in this thread http://www.kugaownersclub.co.uk/forum/all-mk2-led-halogen-xenon-bulbs-info_topic9009.html?

If they're like the pre-facelift there's a small tab to press and then the light can be popped out. I've never gone for anything super bright (ie. expensive) for number plate replacement bulbs as you don't need much light output for the number plate to be visible.

Hi All
Need a bit of help
I have upgraded my sync 1.0(4" dot matrix screen) to the sync 1.1 (5" sat nav) all working fine except the no sound from sat nav; the volume cuts like its going to give verbal directions but don't hear them.
I think i need to run the 'voice output' from the FCDIM (sat nav) to the back of the cd unit.
Which pin connectors on the back of the fcdim should go into which pins on the cd unit and how are they numbered.
Ideally I could do with the colours as well as pin positions.
Hoping someone can help
Car is a Kuga 15 plate 2.0 diesel 180 but should say that at the bottom if i've done it right
thanks in advance

The call arrived on the 19th and here we go again. I cannot fault the girl on the other end, she seems to be as sick as me at what the powers to be are saying, even the “working as design intent” statement was used.
She asked me if I would try another dealer ( they are all logged into same system???) for another view on fault. I agreed one last time before taking it higher so car is in today at dealer I used to use some 6 years ago before I bought my first Kuga
Another wasted day me thinks!

Good Luck Ronnie, I phoned my dealer yesterday and they still have no further update for me on a solution, they insist they are talking to Ford but I am not so sure.

8 times they have had my Kuga in now and all my original problems are still there. They even fobbed me off on my fuel economy saying an average of 25 MPG is correct for me vehicle as they have compared it to others with the same engine etc as mine!!

Once you post your findings of this visit I will get onto them again.

Ron

Just a reminder Ronnie, my dealer installing the proper update failed the first time, and whatever they did the second time they attempted was immediately successful. They wanted the car for the day just in case, and they called me within an hour and a half of picking my car up to say it was completed. Apparently the update was monitored by Ford themselves remotely. There doesn't appear to be any sharing of information within Ford between dealers, with dealers only echoing what Ford themselves tell them.

I know yours is Sync 3 instead of Sync2 but there is supposed it does seem like a procedure issue if Ford believe they have successfully sorted the issue and carried out an update themselves. Unless Ford are happy to keep paying the dealer to waste your time. Putting the latter possibility aside, what does amaze me that with so many attempts and if Ford do believe they have a fix, no one appears to have been to the dealer to assist them, unless they have and have not told you.

Never noticed before as the stereo is usually on.
Changed my battery yesterday and had to put in stereo security code then set the clock, I can’t set the date, it only appears to go up to 2017, any ideas?

Thankyou for the advice and i did what you suggested so far it seems to have cured the problem i have taken the kuga on a 50 mile trip and it performed very well.I have noticed however that the fuel consumption has reduced and only getting between 32 to 35 mpg.maybe this is due to the extra performance that i am getting.hopefully it will get better fuel consumption in time.

I changed mine. Very quick and easy job. They are 501 bulbs. They do however stay on dimly for 10 mins or so once the car is turned off due to the canbus electrics staying on for a short period once the car is turned off.

I am happy for you to have been able to follow the instructions and it should be OK as mine has been fine since I did mine. The fuel consumption will be poor on the computer until you fill up and drive as normal as you would have used a lot of fuel doing the static regeneration with doing no miles! Rest assured what you have done will not affect the mpg. Keep me posted with your Fix as the garages don't seem to understand this for some reason. Well done you.

Hi, I’m looking for a reasonable explanation why when I have my horse trailer hitched it sounds like it’s bouncing on the tow bar and you can feel the juddering even through the drivers seat! It’s fitted with a witters. This seems considerably lower than I was used to towing with an Isuzu trooper. There is evidence of rubbing on the tow ball.
No problem pulling the weight but it’s considerably uncomfortable!!
Thanks

There are different diameter tow balls.

Have you checked yoy have the correct ball for your horsebox trailer?.

Hi,

Can anyone tell me why my 17 plate kuga st line eco boost (unleaded) has a rusty exhaust system including boxes and pipes, various fixtures and fittings and other places on the under carriage, ford say this is completely normal, but for a car just over a year old this can't be right surely, I've looked at similar kugas and they are rust free.

Many thanks in advance,

Wes

Have you been under to check the bolts are tight? Ive had one, and my friend had one fitted last year, where the fitter forgot to fully tighten the bolts!   Also, if it’s detachable, maybe there’s an issue with the joint ?

I used a ISO Fix Maxi Cosi Cabriofix about 10yrs ago and recall I had to push the ISO Fix base hard up against the backrest to eliminate slop in the ISO Fix mechanism. Could that be the problem?
