My 2009 TDCi had 0.22 during its last MOT at 81k. (With the latest rules it will fail its MOT if you remove the DPF)

Hiya, it’s a while since I have had a search on the etis site because I left the Kuga fraternity believe it or not for a Nissan Juke Tekna 1.25 petrol, quick but nowhere near as refined as a Kuga. Anyway I have now seen the light and purchased a 2nd user mk2 Kuga, due to get it next week. As I said I haven’t been on th3 etis site for ages but what has happened I used to be able to have a look on the etis site and see what certain Kugas were equipped with. I’ve just had a look and it features just the vin number and the colour. Any help would be good. Cheers, John

Instant MOT failure and a potential £1000 fine. It is an criminal offence to remove the DPF fromacar originally fitted with one.

You need to keep the wear reasonably even.

(There are old posts on here where people have fitted differing tyre brands front to rear and had the AWD system misbehave due to differences in circumference between them.)

Kumho make lots of different tyre models. Wink

You're going to be limited by the tyre profile as to what tyre models will fit, but going for something cheap will usually get you what you're after. Cooper offer mileage guarantees on their tyres providing you keep to their alignment/ balancing regime.

Yes indeed, and I think the point of different tyre brands should be a cautionary note in the handbook.
I'd imaging generic improvements of a particular tyre (by name) from a manufacturer probably have the same ride characteristics as the way its sits on the road as its predecessors.

As for difference in tread depth from front to rear, I'm not sure how much difference makes any impression of the AWD system. You can sit 3 people in the rear that I would imaging would reduce the rear wheel radius by a tread depth and observe no effect other than handling.

Some of the veterans of Ford AWD system may confirm this, that the tyre wear difference between front and rear appears to be low and I'm guessing is because that most wear is on pulling away, other than those may like hard cornering.

I did front to back mine at about 12,000 miles and when I repaced them at 25,000 miles they were all worn evenly
I always replace my tyres before they are down to the minimum

Like the addition of the Austin A30. My dad had one and it was the first car I travelled in.
Does yours have the pull down windows, or are you posh and have winders?

Yep. Pull down windows and trafficators. And it stalls more than the Kuga

pingutm,

They're not covers.  The nuts are painted gloss black.  Quick rub down to roughen up the surface, degrease and paint using Gloss Black Smooth Hammerite.  Not a 100% quality job, but from a few feet away they look ok.

Regards,

Andy

Hi all

From Australia long time fan of the forum and finally signed up to post :)

Just thought to put up some pics of my kuga mk1, got a black one so decided to stick with the stealth look and go for the all back theme.

Just some small things done so far including:
Eibach lowered Springs
Irmsher 20" matte black wheels
Chrome delete with vinyl wrapping (gloss black) to the front grille and badges
Debadged
Gloss back wrapped diffuser
Tinted out tail lights
Eyelids

Let me know what you all think 😁

Just some things on the way
Ordered a stage 2 DTF intercooler
Turbosmart plumb back CBV
ECU remap
Catback exhaust system

All done, forgot to say...I misguidedly thought only the centre bit flicked out, but it's the whole half section isn't it...and I was kinda holding it tight while trying to open it up...sort of defeating the object of it all.. anyway, both fobs sorted - thanks

Well, after God knows how many emails and phone calls between myself and Ford CRC, I decided enough was enough and contacted Ford Head Office, took a while and numerous e-mails, but to cut a long story short the outcome is that car goes in to Dealership next week on 4 day booking where Ford Head Office, Ford Technical and Dealer can liase together with car in their possession with promise of daily phone call updates from Head Office and hopefully get this text issue sorted.
Got to be honest, Im not that confident of a successful outcome, but you never know.
