Respect and kudos to the amount of work which went into your install but for an switched ignition live it's really not needed

Just piggy back the fuse I identified and your away

Nice work though 👍🏻

It was the optional 19" wheels that suffered from corrosion problems in the early days. To my knowledge there's never been a problem with the standard TitX 18" wheels. It just looks like yours have been well looked after.

Not in the passenger footwell, I tested quite a few and most were perm lives

Noticed this post Pop, do you mean that fuses you'd associate with ignition such as Wipers, fuel pump, airconditioning, washer pump, were not ignition live in then passenger fuse box.

As I've mentioned the inaccessible nature of the passenger fuse box and the possibility of the fuse for additional socket blowing the 5 amp fuse I'd used due any misadventure put me off using it.

You are 100% correct. However, I wanted the new outlet to be on the "official" Aux Fused circuit - that's the anal Electrical Engineer in me.

Now this is the trouble with electrical engineers, we always play safe.

You have a socket in the dash too then Graham?

I wonder how many variant of arm rest there are. Yours doesnt look like my old Feb 63 Titanium X which is different again to the 16 reg.

Got my twin socket under the dash which powers the Garmin (car has Satnav but I do use the garmin too) and some radio equipment that sits on the dash. Cables are hidden in the door seal.

Just realised and checked, mines a 2014 model and global isn't linked to moonroof so I reckon a tap in to circuit will be Ok. I'll do a temporary test connection to test before a full installation, may save running wiring to rear fusebox

You might find it still has a delay on it and and Ford just didnt enable the moonroof global facility. It did seem on on my 2013 that global opening/closing didnt include moonroof. (because its not called a sunroof maybeSmile)

I have had my new Kuga since March this year and over the past few days it has developed and overpowering sweet chemically smell. The smell is so bad I have to drive with the windows open.

Not the pleasant 'new car' smell which had begun to fade but something which I can only describe as vomit inducingShocked

Morning all. Sorry to drag this thread up again but I'm currently suffering a similar problem with my 58 reg titanium.
I fill up when down to about a quarter full as I can't be bothered with a tenners worth here and there, so went to fill up on Friday.
Stuck the nozzle and started to fill up but fuel kept coming back and cutting the supply off, I thought the nozzle wasn't in properly so took it out and started again, same thing with fuel spitting back and pump cutting out.
Then a voice from behind said, you've got a petrol leak under there, to which I replied, I hope not cos I'm putting diesel in..lol. Anyway, when I looked down there was a sizeable puddle under the car. This chap very kindly got under the car and had a look, he said there was a drip from the tank.
I paid for the three quids worth I'd put in and left the forecourt and drove the four miles home where I rang my fitter, he said he'd pop out later, in the meantime a friend called in and I told him about what had happened, we looked at the filler and there was a small amount of fuel in the bottom of it, I mopped it up and found a small hole I'd never noticed before ( there was a lot of crud in it ) my friend got underneath and found an open ended pipe with diesel on it, having decided that's what the problem was I rang the fitter to tell him he said he'd still call in and check it.
I waited till 6 o'clock but as the fitter hadn't turned up and I thought I'd sorted the problem and as I still had things to do decided I'd go and get some diesel
And yes, the same thing happened again, a puddle of fuel and a fairly fast drip, now before going to the garage I'd stuffed some paper towel under the filler hole to catch any spill and stop it going down the breather pipe.
Now, interestingly while the car had stood all day on the drive there wasn't a drip to be seen it was bone dry underneath, it only drips when being filled up.
So, is it a breather pipe problem or is it, as I suspect, a fuel filler pipe problem.
Any ideas before I take in to the garage next week.....and why dose it always happen on the Friday of the bank holiday.?

Thats it, interesting reading.

My reasons using other than the passenger fuse box, accessibility to the fuse should it blow and location of power socket tucked under the RH side of the drivers foot-well made it convenient to use the route for the rear heated seat sockets under the rear seats. All cables are still hidden. The front and  rear camera are both powered from the rear. The sometimes intermittent nature of the plug in power supply's causes surges and blows the lower current fuses when fitted, hence accessibility.

Yes well I did suppose incorrectly that the ignition circuits would be switched like ignition circuits, but obviously appear to be initialised by ignition.

But F85 looks like the one to go for, for proper ignition switched feed if using the passenger fuse box.

Trying to work out how to attach the document to the post so if someone could help. Looks like ford are losing the titanium x and X sport from the range and adding an x pack as a option ( over 2k) to the titanium.

Thanks

I'd read that Titanium would be the top, non sporty, mainstream trim and guessed that they do an X Pack. Ford often do this albeit usually on new models and not facelifts. The MK2 Kuga and MK3 Focus were exceptions.

It can often work out a little cheaper having an X Pack. When I ordered my C-Max I was really torn between having it or not at £2,000. In the end I decided against and always regretted it. A few months later Ford bought out a Titanium X trim which was around £2,400 dearer than the Titanium and you only got part leather instead of full leather that the X Pack gave you.

Really interested in seeing the prices and models available on the facelift Kuga, although not sure myself how you would attach Doc, unless you took picture and pasted using the tree icon at the top, did the dealer give you an idea when order books open and first availability?
