Just rung them they said if heater set to max then when starting next if temp 2 or below screens come on automatically. Hmm will have to try it they said if doesn't work then just pop in & they'll check it out. (No doubt charge me £** for 1/2 hr investigation! Think I'll just keep pressing the switches my self be cheaper!!

On the Mk1 the front and rear screens can be programmed to come on automatically below 5 deg C using the ELMConfig software and a modified OBD2 reader.

I know this to be the case as it was one of the changes I made to my Mk 1 just after i got it.

I have this problem with my passenger rear door! wasn't ice related! the catch was faulty - its booked to go in next Tuesday for a new catch fitted. mine was closing sometimes but other times would "bounce back" so was slightly open when I had tried shutting the door, I thought it was to do with the cold weather but had them take a look and it is indeed a faulty catch.

The age old technique of turning it off leave it 30 secs and on again wins again

I had this problem too! was driving me mad, finally got it booked in and they did the same with mine too.

Just spoke to dealer, car not ordered yet so I decided to add the Driver Assistance pack - heard good things about it.
Dealer said it's a projected build month of April 2015, so May delivery is likely.

I can't compare the 163 to the 180 but I am glad that the bonnet vibration isn't just on mine!

The rear edge, just in front of the offside wiper spindle, vibrates on tickover on mine. To be honest, there's a vibration all through the car on tickover.

Oh dear, sounds worse than mine. Have you looked at my vibration link. The vibration at idle is quite low but as you select the graphs as rpm is increased you can see the vibration disappear at about 900 rmp up to approaching 1200 rpm and then the onset of resonance. I can only just feel the idle vibration on the steering wheel but the peak vibration I can feel and hear as a drone and disappears above 1500 RPM.

Hi
Adam, it's happened again today, really can't see what causes it. It must be to do with the cold weather.

After years of vauxhalls (and yes, the vectra forum was full of people panning the 1.9 CDTi engine for faults rather than praising for power and economy) I found they had no 4x4's I actually liked, and with the UK climate getting wetter and colder, an one of my hobbies veing fishing, went for a Kuga last October. Really pleased with it, as engine loosens up mpg going up, very comfortable, hardly notice the bumps that used to rattle teeth in the SRi vectra. Decent amount of oomph, holds the road well, and feels very safe. Happy bluetooth etc, getting to know all the technology, most of which was not on my 2008 Vectra.
All in all, quite happy and would have another anyday.

Got a 2013 2.0l diesel X and my problem seems to be the power of the air blowers.Unless on 5 or 6 it takes ages to feel the heat coming through.

Hi folks. I'm normally a Freelander man because I do a lot of forestry, excavation, and demolition work. I went out last week to up date my existing Freelander, unfortunately I took my wife with meUnhappy who thinks all 4X4s are tanks,Shocked. As i'm doing my "Man thing" with the dealer I hear "OH! that looks nice, what is it!!" (You can probably see where this is going( To cut a sad story short,we ended up with A KUGA!! and I'v still got my old FreelanderConfused  I'm not sure if its a MK1 o Mk2? its a "Trend" sept 2010, 75k kms, Not 4x4 but has 4x4 tyres and 4 drive shafts, sort of gun metal blue.Wife loves the colour and the carApprove, she describes it as "very nimble"Cool  Just got a couple of queries, I can't turn off the bloody head lights, and there's no Auto on the light switch, and when I lock the car the flashers don't flash, but they do when I unlock it. Also as someone else posted on here there is a rumbling bearing type noise when driving. Any help with the above will be gratefully receivedThumbs Up

Hi ardbloke
My 5 year old Mk1 has recently lost its tailgate hinge cover (off side). I had noticed that the larger part of the hinge cover, that fits into the roof, had come loose in the Summer so I glued it back on and that's OK.
I suppose the Ford part will cost a fortune when I have it replaced at the next service.
I check them regularly each time I clean the car (it has never been in a car-wash so I don't know what causes them to become dislodged).
3 Cheers for Bostik glue!
