Hi Steven,
I have the MK1, you the MK2. Therefor mine dont fit yours. If you take a look at #11 at this site:

you could contact Igor. He is presenting a Russian workaround in his post. Or you can find a solution on the BTS company web site. You may write a English post in our forum (kuga-freunde.com) if you need help dont hesitate to contact me.
My bonnet lifts are from a Audi A8. its just up to you to try fitting some lifts. As we tried the first ones on the MK1 we had the hood jumping up. We used lifts with too much power, about 500mn. Then we used with less power until we met ones that could be used. Today we can fit lift between 290 to 350nm. As you see, it is something you just have to tryout.
How to fit the lifts on the Escape (MK2) are very good documented in Igors post.
