Hi oldoiler,

Hope it's not in the repair shop because the brakes did not stopped you quickly enough Cry.

ABS only works if a wheel stops turning (ie. locks up) or maybe if there was a sensor problem but you would know as the pedal would pulsate.

How old is the car as brake fluid does not last forever, it is hydroscopic, which means it absorbs water over time and this affects it performance. Makes the brakes feel like they need bled.

Could also be the discs, if you look at them the more groves worn into them the worse they will work.

It is also worth checking the pads first as if they are well worn they can affect the braking performance.

Cheers Beer.

Andy
