Disconnected battery as suggested by Eamonn,results were:-With battery on van disconnected and van connected to car.
1. with ignition off 12v lighting in van works ok but the van volt meter only reads 12v.
2. with ignition on no lights on in van and no reading at all on van volt meter.
3. with van battery still disconnected and car ignition on/engine running using a volt meter(not the van volt meter)I get a reading of 13.2v from the battery leads so it is charging the battery so assume fridge is working.
And the link to the sway control was good thanks Eamonn looks like you only get info in car when sway is detected seems odd as you wouldn't be looking at the car dash if caravan was snaking would you,would be more reassuring if a message to say it was working was displayed.Thanks again for your input Eamonn
