Hi Richard,
I've no idea if a Cadet will fit in the boot but I do know a bit about motorsport!
If your just trying it our then fold the seats down but you will still need/want to take a lot of kit with you - helmet, race suits, spares, tyres, fuel, tools, food, etc. etc.
If he is good then, have a long hard think about it.
As the saying goes 'How do you make a small fortune in motor racing? Start with a big one!'
I earned my living in professional motorsport as a mechanic/engineer for a good few years, got out of it and got a 'normal' job.
Then a coupe of years ago I was asked to help out with a club race car - first time out, testing, I came home from a very, very cold day testing and my wife says "I guess you've enjoyed it, you look 10 years younger".
Enjoy it, I loved it! People think cocaine is addictive they have no idea just how addictive motorsport is! And coke is probably cheaper!
We did something club race people should never ever do, we added up the costs - worked out at over £1k per race.
Thats for a club racing saloon - get into single seaters and the costs will rocket.
I understand that a season in British F3 last year was, if you wanted to win, c£1m.
