Subject: Important AWD Malfunction

Collected the car from the Ford repair garage on Friday having been told by them that they were going to replace a solenoid which had the words 'Do not remove' on it, but only when they got Ford authorisation for this. Then a phone call to say the 'repair' had been authorised - which we assumed meant the solenoid replacement they had described to us. So on collecting the car to take directly to the Vauxhall dealer for our trade in deal, we were absolutely heartbroken when we were told that the Haldex unit had been replaced.
This is what we had been asking for since it became clear that the initial repair hadn't worked and repeated refusal to do this had led us to feel that our only option was to offload the car whilst we still could.
You can imagine how we feel - yes we have a newer car but we are thousands of pounds down and now have a car we wouldn't have chosen under different circumstances. Devastated and feeling totally let down doesn't come near it.
