I've just spoken directly with Haldex, who say it is advisable to change the Kuga Haldex oil & filter in line with Volvo service intervals.. ie every 20k, otherwise its a ticking time bomb before the filter clogs up and then the nightmare begins..

Alarmingly, it appears that ALL Ford dealers (including the guys on the Ford Tech helpline) are saying that 3rd/4th gen Haldex unit is a 'sealed for life' item which has no Ford service schedule. Hence why dealers have no interest in it, other than being more than happy to relieve you of silly money should your Haldex fail as a result of nil maintenance which Ford stipulate!
What is worse is that my local Ford dealer informed me just last week, that it was not advisable to change the Haldex oil & filter, as it might cause problems, ie if its not broke don't fix it, they were reluctant to perform the task and advisory not to..

I think its high time this matter was brought to the attention of the BBC Watchdog team to expose for what it is!
