In the case of the K&N Typhoon, it was the design and the "not-so-cold-air-intake-afterall" to blame, not the filter itself. As is the case with almost all SRIs, since the heat soak effect dimishes, eliminates or even negates any positive effect.

The increased flow from an aftermarket filter is always there, nonetheless..
