Hello. I had similar issues with a Ford Mondeo quite a few years ago with an intermittent fault and I believe it was due to the ignition not being wired correctly, or earthed. I had a similar scary moment wen driving down an unlit single carriageway around 60mph when the issue happened and I lost power, steering and lights. It was my dad's car at the time and he left it with Fords and refused to have it returned until the issue had been resolved. I would do the same and ask for a courtesy car, as driving the car with a known fault would not go down well with your insurance company.

I think you should give them a couple of attempts to fix it and state if it's not fixed you want a refund/new car etc. Is the car on finance? If it is tell the finance company ASAP as well, as they are responsible and can put more pressure on the garage to get it resolved.
