Do you not think they do this?
Components are tested outside the car and inside the car and then on the road.
Things just go wrong, that is out of anyones control.
I've used this as an example before, but I'll use it again.
At work we had a £15 coffee filter machine that got used 5 days a week, 3-4 times a day. It lasted nearly 3 years befroe it broke.
At home I had an £80 coffee machine that only got used at weekends and not every weekend, that last 11 months!
Things break, it's not very nice. But it happens.

![]() What sort of attitude is that ? :-) We are not Guiney Pigs for multi million pound companies ! Every part should be test outside the car then inside the car along with a long road test before production of cars is in place. Instead, they look for the cheapest supplier supplying a part and go with that, they know during the life time of a car in their terms 2 years the faults will be ironed out with the number of complaints made. It's only the obvious and dangerous that get the RECAL all others are left up to the buyer to point out and in most cases pay for themselves ? Even when big companies know of dangerous faults they wait to see how many faults appear before doing a re-call .... But I guess as you say, life's to short to argue the toss, although I always do, usally in front of other potensial buyers.... |
