Subject: Unexplained battery drain

If the battery is really flat it can drag the voltage down on the battery that you are trying to jump off as well.
It's best to disconnect the battery (positive terminal) and then charge the battery. Your car will then start fine.
You will then be able to drive to the dealer and start ranting loudly in a full showroom full of people about the terrible service you have been given!
The clicking noises and headlights being on all point to a dead/low battery.
